I was aware of the maturity thing, but being my first venture and given that I'm only allowed to be flowering 12 at a time I'd like to shoot for at least 3/4 - 1 oz dried per clone. I was just searching for a cage more or less of needed veg time after they leave the cloner?

P.s Scotty how much u typically average per clone dried weight?

Thanks , sorry for the ini hijack I just wanted to ask that quick question.

Awesome thread though Scotty I think it will help a lot of people!

After they have busted out enough roots, I move them into cups of perlite. Just the plain red Solo cups. Also called "keg cups". I have holes poked in the bottom of the cups. I then set them in a tray of water with airstones bubbling away. I have a desk lamp with a 42w cfl pointed at them. Sometimes I use 2 lamps. After I see they have settled in, and the upper leaves begin getting lighter (indicating they are getting hungry), I begin bit by bit adding a small amount of nutes to the water. I let them grow for a few weeks like this. Then when they reach a certain size (which I've learned to eye-ball with these master kush plants), I move them to a dwc bucket under 400w MH for a full 3 week cycle of Useless formula. By then they are a couple feet tall with thick stems and tight internodal spacing. THEN I move the to the flower tent where I have a 400 and 600 hps. They grow at least 8-10 more inches in there. Sometimes they grow another foot after I put them to flowering.

Over the last year I managed to actually root SOME clones, so I've been able to keep this strain going. The thing was, I'd have to take 16 cuttings just to get 3 that rooted. I had to play a percentage game. So it was always lots of cuttings with just a few survivors. HOWEVER, I have been able to establish a perpetual harvest situation.

I have accrued enough personal stash to smoke that I can afford to let these plants veg that long/big and run 10 weeks in flower and then dry and cure slowly, naturally and properly. I harvest 1 plant every couple of weeks. Sometimes 2 plants at once if they are both ready. I usually get about 3 dry ounces per plant, not counting the popcorn buds that end up in qwiso. I usually keep about 5 plants in flowering all times and 4-5 in veg at all times. Then there's another 3-5 plants in the bubbler tray. Each plant is approx 1-2 weeks younger than the one ahead of it. And so on it goes.

I'll put up some pics tomorrow of the process.

I never note the veg time, but (I always use clones) after the stretch, I finish (5 gallon buckets) at 2 1/2'-3' and yield 2 oz. And that's chopping early, as the few friends I help-out don't want a couch-lock.

Thanks guys that's def gives me an idea of what I'd like to do... I guess it differs per strain as well, for instance I have a white widow who stay ridiculously short and bushy. 1/2 inch nodes maybe less... And my blue berry is blowing me out of my space lol same vegtim on both and blueberry is twice the size ... Lol

    Thanks guys :thumbs-up::passsit:

Right now I have 8 clones going. 7 of them have busted out nice roots and the 8th one is going to root any day now! I was gonna wait until all 8 of them rooted and then come up on this thread and surprise everybody. But things are going so well that I might as well go ahead and announce the good news. It's such a beautiful thing seeing 7 of them rooted.

Hey Ras thanks for bringing up this thread and checking in on the project. I appreciate that!

I am absolutely orgasmic with happiness over this!

That's super :coool: Glad to hear it brother. I always want to see someone who's trying and struggling, succeed and learn how to do something. Cloning is essential to the hobby. I'm glad you finally got it going. :good job::passsit:

I haven't read the whole thread to ascertain what y'all are utilisng for rooting hormone , if you have not yyet tried 'em then try Dip-n-Gro or Woods Rooting hormone. Not only are they inexpensive , they work a heck of a lot better , they're utilised within the structure of commercial agriculture to root all sorts of things , including notoriously hard things like the Photinias.

I use Clonex. T6 uses Rootone. Some of these cats don't use any rooting hormone at all and they still bust out roots.

I'm clonex also... And I owe you a great big thanks Scotty! Because of this thread my first attempt to clone was successfully done at 8 for 8 clones and that clonex works lovely such healthy white roots !

Nice buds btw , makes my mouth water for some master kush ! :redbong::passsit::good job:

Master Kush is a great first strain. It's more forgiving than a desperate girlfriend! MK is resilient, it can handle you screw-ups. Here's an example: I wish I'd posted pics and info about a plant I recently grew. Great example of MK's toughness. The day I put into flowering, I did something waaaay wrong. I was stoned and made a drastic mistake when mixing the nutes and the plant turned brown overnight. There was still a little bit of green in the leaves, so I immediately switched it out into plain water and waited it out. I grew that plant for 7 weeks in plain water and it bounced back. It outgrew the dead brown leaf tissue...and turned out a decent yield..though it was compromised by my screw-up.

As far as staying short and busy, the plant's genetics take care of that for you. But if you really wanna turn them into big fat Kush bushes, LST all the way...especially keep them tied down during the first 2-3 weeks of flowering. LSTing the plants means you get a nice overall canopy for even light distribution, AND you can keep your lights a little bit closer to the plant. I personally have more vertical room than horizontal, so I don't tie them down, but they stay short and thick with compact node-spacing. Of course, if you don't have your lights close enough to the plants, then just about any breed will stretch, which is not really what ya want.

Aside from a significant light upgrade, I think that going DWC or RDWC is the single best thing you can do to increase yield and quality. You will be thrilled with the results once you get the Useless Formula and Ph dialed in.

    Keep us/me updated on what you're doing.

The Cloner. My cat a little nibble on some of the fan leaves, but the growth tips and smaller leaves are OK.

100% cloning for the first time in 2.75 years of growing. T6, thank you. Thank you to everybody who has followed this thread and helped me with info and/or encouragement.

Here is where they will go next:

Clones in red plastic cups of perlite with holes in the bottom of the cups. Sitting in a bubbler tray to stablize.

Here's the 42w CFL in a plain desk lamp. When I add these 8 new clones I'll set up a second lamp.
