Wondering if anyone has tried this? Looking for an easy, clean, low maintain., system prob around 4 plants total. Don't know if I should go with DWC system or this, shying away from RDWC because I don't wanna run into warm water temps then spend the extra cash on chiller. Any thoughts? Tips would be helpful, or which system I should buy or build. Looking to do this in the next couple of days
That little Emily's Garden (Hydrofarm) I got actually rocks. I posted some week by week pics a couple weeks back. I'll get an updated one tomorrow when the lights are on. I thought it was going to be a joke and I only bought it because someone on craigslist was letting it go cheap. I thinking with a good 2-3 week veg you could easily pull 5 or 6 ounces off the 6 plants and that's way more than enough than I'll ever use in a grow cycle. I'm thinking of shutting down my tent for the rest of summer and just rolling with this. /monthly_2011_07/eg3.jpg.7e55ebb13315d403f87badab36fdd027.jpg
Hey nippie, yeah i am actually running 4 coco growers right now. They are pretty nice but a little big and bulky for my taste, if they were square and not round you could fit many more of them in a small space. They are fairly easy to maintain tho. Let me know if u have any questions. Later, Nugz
Thanks for the input Nugz, I just threw together a DWC system instead, cheaper and upgradable. Thinking depending on how things go, when I switch to flower may upgrade to RDWC. I talked to hydro store and a few others and decided that DWC might work for me. Still considering a drip system for moms though. How big can you grow in one of those?
how big in the coco growers? well i've got 16 oz off a plant in a coco grower once. The thing was eating a half a gallon of water a day almost towards the end it was ridiculous. Anyways u can grow 'em pretty big in the coco growers but it's a pain in the ass sometimes trying to clean all the roots off the coco insert when you're finished. I haven't really looked into DWC until now and it seems to be much more cost efficient and easier to maintain. Good luck w/everything.
@nugz Try soaking them in Hygrozyme sensizyme or any other enzyme designed for hydro. The Enzymes will eat the organic root matter I use this method to get all the roots out of my hydroton expanded clay pellets I use them in all my hydro stuff.:thumbs-up:
