Thought I would share what I am currently doing. Same growroom setup I had before, no changes yet. Upgrades to the veg room coming soon.

    Current strain:DJ Short's Vaniluna

This strain is a very excellent smoke. It's a strange strain that has a mostly Indica appearance but like to flower for 11+weeks from my experience with previous grows from this mom. Some might remember earlier grows of this strain from my early posts when I first joined GK. It's been a while since I have flowered her out so I'm excited. There are 28 of them and 16 are uniform size with 2 smaller ones that rooted late. I wanted 32 but I lost a few clones so this it it for tis run. They are about to start week 3 of veg. and may seem small but this cut stays extremely compact and short in stature and I need them to be at least 12"-16" tall when I flower them. The strain as a whole is one of my favorite smokes. It's very tasty like berry cream savers. Grows pretty large dense colas that turn a nice lavender color. The plant sports a cool variegation in the leaves as well as some weird leaf deformities . It's just a cool strain that you don't see very often.

I welcome questions and comments, and constructive criticisms.

    Couple of full table shots.

Couple of close up shots. Check out the leaf deformities and variegation, pretty neat and fairly rare.

T6- Yes, it's the strain with the variegation. I'm gonna veg them for 1 more week then flip the switch to 12/12 It should be a good show.

CC-Without getting too specific about my exact numbers, I will say that the market is heavily saturated and prices are down. Average price medical growers are getting is around $3000 per pound of top shelf grade buds depending on the strain. Some strains fetch a little more money and some clubs pay more, but average is around that much. As for how much I am making, well it's not enough to get wealthy from or even make a decent wage. My setup is small in comparison to most of the medical growers I know. I also know that a lot of the guys making big bucks are stealing some or all of their power and I don't do that. I pay in full for all the electricity I use and It is not cheap to stay in operation.

I took 2 months off from growing in order to assess my situation and whether or not I really wanted to be a commercial grower or just go back to my single 1k watt and just growing my own. In the end I decided I DO want to do this for a living. Hopefully with what I learned last year I can kick things up a notch in the grows to come and make a decent wage.

takes a hell of a big area to grow a lot of bud and a lot of lights. I thought about it one night I can grow 3lbs in a grow for my own use and have loads inbetween grows.

Now at 3 grand a pound if I could produce 15 to 18 pounds a year that would start getting in the pay off range around 45 grand a year at 15 pounds. Thats close to a year of grows 350 days on 10 wk strains. Not rich but start paying off.

I figure with the upgrades I am making to my Veg room. I'm adding a 4'x8' fllod table and res so I can properly veg my plants before moving them to the flowering room giving me a perpetual harvest. I would be harvesting 1 of my 2 4'x8' tables every 5 weeks or so. I figure I can pull around 3 pounds average from a table so if I get 10 harvests of 3 pounds that puts me at 30 or so pounds in the next year.... If I can make it all run smoothly. Split that between my partner and I and deduct operating costs and that only comes to around 30k or a little more depending on the operating costs. Barely makes it all worth it. We'll see how it goes and how the market and medical industry are in this coming election year. They are closing all dispensaries in my county at the moment so I'm not sure how the market will be in a few months.

Can't wait to see more pics, Ras. :popcorn-2: I've got some Dj Shorts Vanilluna vs Soma G13 haze crosses (by Eskobar) going into week 4 of flower right now. I wish there was some variegated leaf action going on so I could tell what's what. They are mixed in with a bunch of other plants and I don't know what anything is.

Seems like you will have to expand if you want to make a better income. Or get a job to supplement your income. As it is, I work two jobs and sell a little on the side. But, the margin is so high here. I make about an extra grand/mo for moving maybe 35g/mo. It really helps out.

Hey man, even here on the streets, its about 4K a # for top shelf......But the demand is more I'd imagine, If i could create 10-15# a month, id be in the money...I could easily put 35-60K CASH in my pocket on a monthly basis if the bud was there.....but its nearly "crazy" status to grow that hard and keep it quiet and unsmelled and un-noticed all at once.....let alone the fear factor while on the road or moving supplies, I dunno...but ima try and rule the world!

    good luck man

I hear ya man. When I was just doing my own thing it was easy to smoke all I wanted and still have extra to make a small income on the side hooking up just a couple friends that are also patients. Not getting rich but at least paying the bills and having a few extra bucks laying around if I needed it. If I was on my own with my current setup I would be able to make a nice wage from what I can produce, but I have a partner and we split it down the middle.

Looks good Ras, glad to see you still rockin the flood tables. You using co2?

Thanks Hank. From my experience a lot of DJ Shorts genetics have distinctive purple stems. I dunno if you have any with very deep purple stems with a medium to dark green foliage. Serrations on the leaves of both my DJ Short strains are more rounded as well. Maybe that will help. Only about 15% of the plants will show variegation from what I have read.

Thanks tC. I like the flood tables except the height restriction I have. They work great though and are EASY hydro. Yes I am using Co2 but it's set low during veg to stretch it out. I use tanks and my room could be sealed better. Something I'm gonna work on soon.

For sure, ask and you shall receive. It's time for a quick update. Glad you're interested, it always makes sharing more fun when people are interested in seeing what you're doing.

Thanks man, she stays short, in fact I wish I could get them to put on a little height so I could flip the switch. I gotta let 'em get bigger in order to maximize yield considering that for a short indica looking plant she likes to flower for 11 weeks.

They are finishing week 3 of veg. Useless formula full strength 1100 PPM. Temps are at 80 degrees and humidity is 48%. Co2 is at 1050 PPM.

Growth is healthy and fairly rapid but I wish they would get taller. Looks like 1 more week of veg before I can flip the switch and go to 12/12.

Here they are as of tonight.

Thoughts? I know Bushmaster is used to limit height.... Anyone know of a way to get them to stretch?

Well just as I thought they are starting to really take off. I think the height will be just fine. For a short time raise your lights a little and they will start to stretch for the light.

    Nice work

I know it will be fine.... But when you are out of weed and are looking at 11 weeks of flowering time... Short plants that won't get tall fast are actually a problem where they would normally be sought after. The lights are about 30" from the plants. I only have another 10"-12" to raise them.
