Hey all - was checking my plants today and notice a LOT of large brown bumps along the stalk of my best plant, some of them running up the colas with a few in the buds that are still thin & flowering. I got real concerned and gently scraped them off as Im pretty sure they are bugs laying eggs and not a diseased plant - what do you think? Have you guys seen these before? Can MJ plants get herpes? I knew I shouldn't have let her stay out last night... Grow is outdoor, in the humid South, no nutes just tap water & sunlight planted the first week of April and trained with stakes to keep height under control...
Looks like caviar:5eek:..............and these: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.backyardnature.net/pix/egg_sqbg.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.backyardnature.net/ins_egg.htm&usg=__l4FsbIkif5O-dUNqeP5jbciB8kM=&h=240&w=200&sz=7&hl=en&start=15&tbnid=CYYMC0CzVlwSYM:&tbnh=110&tbnw=92&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dinsect%2Beggs%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den
Two questions...you said you live in the southern US? and what does the plant tissue look like when you scrape off that brown matter?
Thanks for the feedback guys - definitely looks like insect eggs, and I caught a few little bugs running up the stalks of the plant so I'm pretty sure that's it... should I use some type of insecticide? I dont really wanna poison the bud (obviously) but also dont want these little guys dominating my plants - Im pretty sure I scraped them all off but... Also, the plant tissue underneath the eggs is white with slight hit of pink in the center
I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in all my years of searching. Be sure and update this if you get a definitive answer as to what those are. Craziness...maybe its aliens?
