Does condensation or water damage a carbon filter?

I have a tent and it got really damp in there that bad that the walls dripped with water. but since i have started sucking air from the tent and dumping it into my carbon filter it has gone, but will this damage it? the filter i have is a big steel drum probably about the size of a peddle bin. the smell is not an issue so i am not really that bothered about the filter but just curious it seems to be working quite well as a dehumidifier, i will probably stick it in a big bucket if it starts to leak,

actually i am not sure if it is a carbon filter. it has like a fibre glass in it instead of charcoal

The carbon is under or inside the fibre glass. It is a carbon filter. Moist air wont damage it. Its what they are made for.

OK Thanks but it is not just moist air it is dealing with condensation that gets that humid it starts to form water droplets from my ceiling, i can only image the drum will be filling up with water

You should have a strong fan pulling the air though the filter. That will stop any droplets forming in the filter. Water wont do anything anyway. Fish tanks have carbon filters in them and they constantly submerged.
