Four arrests in raids on cannabis cafés By Chris Gray 19 December 2002 Police have arrested four people in a crackdown on Amsterdam-style cannabis cafés. Scotland Yard made the arrests at two cafés in Camden, north London, after keeping them under surveillance for nearly two months. Police said the cafés, Amsterdam of London and Ian's Hemp Bar, sold legal paraphernalia associated with cannabis but officers suspected drug dealers were operating at both. About 25 officers raided the cafés and seized 14 wraps of marijuana, two marijuana grinders and a small amount of cannabis resin from Amsterdam of London. Two men, aged 29 and 38, and a 21-year-old woman were arrested. However, the café was still open for business yesterday, and a member of staff described it as a "head/smart" shop, which sold "smart products" that gave legal highs. At Ian's Hemp bar, a 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis. During the raid, a samurai sword and lock-knife were seized. Police hope the raids, on Tuesday, will counter impressions that their policy towards drug dealers has been relaxed in the wake of government plans to reclassify cannabis. From July next year, cannabis will be a class C, rather than class B drug, and police will no longer have automatic powers to arrest people for possession.

What a damn shame. I mean-it is proved that Cannabis is Safer than Aspirin!!!! Aspirin kills more than Cannabis folks....."hello?"..... Did you know that smokin' 1.5 packs of cigarettes per day equals to over 300 chest X-rayz(80's style without the lead protection!) per year!?! You must smoke at least 16 Spliffs(5 joints=1 spliff) per day for Cannabis to be harmful!!! NOBODY SMOKES THAT MUCH!!! Don't believe. Then Fine. Ironically, these studies were conducted by our very own Govt. to "discredit cannabis".... Still don't believe me? Do a Google Search Or better yet. Smoking 1 joint puts as much tar in your lungs as 3 cigerttes. MJ is also causes cancer. Its not as bad as tabs but its still bad for you.
i've read that it's not necessarliy the carcenogenic material in cigs that causes cancer. it's the phosphate fertilizers that are required by USA law to grow tobbacco in. these fertilizers absorb radiation, and that causes anywhere from 50 to 90 percent of cancer received from smoking. (different studies found different results) not to mention all the chemicals and poisons in cigs not found in mary jane. that 1 joint to 3 cigs is misleading. but when you think about it, dont' mary jane supporters act the same way for their arguments as anti mary jane supporters feel for theirs? maybe we are products of propaganda, and the truth lies elsewhere. i get the feeling sometimes that maybe i'm ignoring the truth because i'd rather smoke weed. on some days i notice i forget ****... maybe i should just pay more attention.
All im saying is that you should not think that MJ is harmless. Unfortunately that is the way far too many pot smokers think. True it is less harmful than tabacco smoke but it still kills. It causes cancer and other diseases. Who coughs louder a dope smoker or a tab smoker? Dope smokers because they have **** loads more in their lungs to bring back up. I just think its good to know all the info. Im also quite happy to push that info to the back when smoking! but its best to know!
any measure of any drugs sold ilegally .........that's a wrap, in L'pool/UK ...one or twice...I may have taken the wrap.........had my knuckles wrapped... bin wrapped in a blanket of snow.... smoked pot an' fell about in wraptures .........wrapped my arms about my shoulders in fear of the wrap......well that just about wraps it up
