So i sneaked my foxfarm out to my pre-dug holes. 1/2 bag per hole. I return about an hour and there is a zillion fire ants in the foxfarm. I still planted the babies in the soil. Any ideas as far as damage or something to get rid of them?
If you want to go with an organic way to kill the little bastards use corn meal. The ants will take the corn meal back to the nest and bring it to the queen. When she eats it it will expand in her stomach and kill her. No more nest. I have used the corn meal to kill nests in my yard many times in the past. Or just get some fire ant poison. Peace....
Very interesting, I never would have thought of that. It's a very simple concept yet gets rid of a colony of ants for a fraction of the cost of any poison.
Fire ants are new to me. Im from out of town. Will they hurt the plant? Will they protect them from animals? No bunny or little critter is going near them thats for damn sure.
Don't think they will hurt the plants. Animals will avoid the area though. You don't want them around. They hurt like hell when they bite, and they never attack alone. Peace....
they will kill them....you must replant or nuke the MFS.... i just got ate up by them...nuke themasssit: Im not shitting...your plants are in a waste land if they are in control and think of the fun you will have gardening KIll them....for the fun of it
7 dust Sevins dust. Pyganic I just a few organic certified pesticides that will work. As far as fire ants good luck with that them bastards hurt You look down After the first bite and realize you have a leg covered in them Just stomp your feet in the fall off
Browsing this forum looking for an answer to a different problem..... But while I'm here.. I've been using this with terrific results. Not only is it ORMI approved, the spinosad in it takes care of the spider mites and caterpillars too.
