Why is it that my 2 plants under a dinky 28w fluro are growing faster and bigger than my 400w MH? Should they even be close? Both are about 20 days from popping. Both have the same humidity. strain is the church. The 4 under the MH have a bigger grow space, more light, and are in 5 gal buckets. temp is about 80 F. they are about 18 inches from the light. Bulb is new. 22/2 The 2 under the fluro are for the mothers. they are in 5 inch pots and are very close to the light. bulb used for 3 months. 24/7 Whats going on?
you might be seeing stretching and inter node distance due to a LACK of light. the other possibility is that it could be just the genetics, but unlikely. also your MH lamp might not be producing the right light spectrum. also a little more info would help too! Peace!
......."It won't last long. I keep my floro tubes RIGHT on top of my stuff. I've NO idea, other than JUST perhaps, you pushed the others into the 400w lamp quickly, and they are running slower adjusting to the new high intensity lamp? it won't last long, though. That low intensity fixture is only good for the top layer of vegitation. you'll see soon enough. I stay with the tubes, until they call for the big gun. It's all good.
ive noticed that others on this site growing the church are growing way faster than mine. everything seems perfect except the RH so i added a humidifier today. we'll see what happens.
i used a floro tube and some cfls from start to finish on my plant, though the yield would probably have been bigger if i used something better. Are the plants growing more leaf sets quicker or just getting taller? cause if they are getting taller with less developed nodes than its probably stretch
new with cfls i'm trying to get a grow going with just cfls and am very interested in any info on grows using flour or cfl lighting, specifically how many of which size for how many plants or cubic footage grow forever drifter421
50 watts per square foot, your good to go. do the math, if you have 4 square feet of growing space, you ideally would have 200 watts, if you have 8 feet youll need 400 watts and so on and so on. read the faqs. and half of the grows done by GKers is done by CFL and fluro lighting, so there are many grow threads with exactly what your looking for, im sure of it, just gotta search the old and new threads, because i think that there is rarely a question being asked that hasnt been previously asked and answered on gk SOMEWHERE....
