The FBI, arrested a 72yr old Brit, in S.Africa for fraud.....they have kept him in an African jail for 2wks, they've taken till now to fingerprint the pensioner, and apologise for wrongful arrest........jesus, talk about land of the free....how can you allow idiots to police your Country.....?
Hell, we dont want idiots policing this country North...they just sort of appoint themselves and do ridiculous things without our consent. (Edited by Seizure Dude at 1:35 pm on Feb. 26, 2003)
yaeh just saw the old guy on the news he looks pretty shook up . he,s on about suing . **** can you blame the poor bastard .safe
Thats why I cancelled my vacation to S. Africa!!! Jump into the fire, your gonna get burned!!! I feel sorry for the guy, but it's the risk you take going to foreign countrys!!! I was in jail in Tujuanna(sp) jail for 18 hours, for walking out of a bar with a beer in my hand, and didn't have the $30 fine!!! While in the jail I was robbed of my watch, gold necklace, shoes and ring!!! Been there done that!!! Peace all!!!
I think you missed the drift there Rocky, the guy was arrested by the FBI, didn't matter what Country he was in, the fuckin' idiots thought he was someone else, took 'em 3wks to realise, they'd fucked up......anyways I hope he sues the Bollox of 'em
I just checked this story out. You guys have your facts wrong. The guy was arrested by South African police, not the FBI. A person with the same name (Derek Bond) is on the FBI 10 most wanted list. This Derek Bond apprently stole the Derek Bond who is in jail id. So when Bond arrived in S. Africa for vacation, his passport caused a hit on the computer as a fugitive and he was arrested. The FBI subsequently found the Derek Bond (aka Derek Sykes) they wanted in Las Vegas, and the one in S. Africa has been released.
...arrested by SA police, FOR the FBI... ...the man had credit cards, and other forms of ID, proving he lived in the UK, it took the FB fucking EYE, 3wks to discover it......electronic finger printing....HA !, the guy didn't even look like the perp....C'mon Gestapo tactics, from an ever increasing police state
Yes, he had all the ID, and that was the problem, the real fugitive has stolen this mans id, so the more he showed, the more it looked like he was the wanted man. Idenity theft is a huge problem, and this poor guy was just another victim. The actual fugitive was wanted for a multi million dollar fraud and had been all over the world using the Derek Bond id. All the S. African police did was arrest him and hold him for extradition, the FBI never had him in custody.
