Looks like that room will work with a couple of modifications. You will need a way to block ALL light from getting into the closet. Those doors wont work well enough. Go inside and close the doors. If you see any light leaking in, you will have to find a way to stop it. Perhaps a black curtain? Also, I don't see any way to vent out the hot air. You may have to cut a hole in the ceiling and attach a fan to pull the air through. Happy Growing. :beerchug-2:
The first thing that popped into my mind was "electrical hazard" Get those ballasts off the floor, and seal up those exposed wires, shit like that makes me nervous.
Thanks for the input.I will probably place a black curtain on those doors,as for the vents I'm not sure how I am going to do that, nor if I will
What is the temperature in that closet with all the doors closed and the lights running full blast? With no ventilation, I would bet it's way too hot.
The ballast will be off the floor shortly and on a shelf,as for exposed wires I take it you speak of the ones from the relfector??ill electrical tape it closed..
I am gettin a thermometer tonight hopefully,my temp should be around 80 at most times right?btw sup guys nice to meet u all and thank u for the info I need and appreciate it..
:read2: :read2: :read2: Dont tape the light man, go get a box plate that goes with the box, its like a $1, just safer and if you dont like safer......do you prefer Deceased?:roffl: Your going to HAVE to ventilate the closet in some way, you need to get the HOT air OUT and the COLD air IN........no matter what you think its a must to have a healthy and progressive plant that will give back to you Try and maintain in the mid 70's with 35-55humidity Good luck
I got the light for free without a clue where to get the cover?ill pay I jus don't know where to get the cover..I donno how to vent it..maybe those doors and completely shut they have shutters..should I break some off n place a curtain or what you guys think??I know I'm new and a noob but I wanna do my shit right n legit,I don care if I gotta spnd more
Standard electrical box cover plate. Available at every single hardware store in the world. Costs about a buck. They'll also have the rounded corner ones like the box on the end of your light. If not, the square one will work. Get one and put it on. Now let's figure how to vent that room
Allright,so I made a list to get asap by this weekend...thermometer or better yet a 3 in 1 tester thing for temp, humidity, and lol I forgot what 3rd one is..also a curtain ,a electrical cover plate, maybe another fan?oh yea timers also!.......ya let's vent this bitch!
:-welcome-: asssit: Wal Mart has thermometer/humidity gauges cheap. I got mine for $6 and it's digital tells me the current temp/humidity as well as the high and low for the past 48 hrs. Here is a link to some cheap exhaust fans. http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/valueline-centrifugal-fans-c-76_629.html You will need an exhaust fan. Exchange of fresh air is super important not only for temperature control but for the plants to be able to have enough Co2 for proper growth and development, especially during flowering. If you want dense buds that are not just super fluffy and no substance it will be important to VENTILATE properly. I use the 6" Valuline 435 CFM fan for my 4ft X 6ft space. I have a single 1000 watt HPS and it does the job to keep it cool and a constant supply of fresh air for my girls.
Thanks rasganjah mon, I shall be at walmart on Thursday to buy that checker..a so I jus T5 in there for vegging and then the two 400 for flowering??
The two 400's might be over kill. One would work fine, plus cooling one lamp is much easier. Without a strong exhaust fan your going to have big heat issues.
I appreciate the info.what do you gentleman propose?use just one 400??or get that T5 and use tht for flowering?!
Try the 400 watt for about an hour or so and see how that does, my guess is that it's gonna be a scorcher in there (like a microwave oven) with no ventilation, so go with the T5 (which is still gonna get hot in there, but not as bad as the 400) til you can figure things out. A fan will help alot Good Luck Peace
with the doors closed you might as well get used to the idea that you are going to have vent it. It has to be closed during flower. On the doors you might be able to just cover them with cardboard if they are flush. :beerchug-2: Teamster6
coming along nicely Can you take a picture from the same place as this but with the doors closed? :ty::beerchug-2:
no prob,do it tomorrow..i usually have the doors closed, its like 80 degrees fahrenheit in their though so every now and then i open it alil.
