Needs to be added every day? Or do I treat the resivor at each ressy change? Epson Salt is applied at 1/4 tsp. per gallon at ressy change? I have been reading, I just want a real life confermation. -peace-
I would have to say it depends on what you want to use it for. H2O2 breaks down into H2O + O which is water and oxygen, the additional oxygen is used relatively quickly as it combines with itself to form O2. According to the concentration you use some O will combine with "free radical's", they swoop up anything with a negative charge, hence the antiseptic properties. Therefore, yes, it would need to be added everyday to be present, however I cannot predict the effects it would have on growth as I have never tried using H2O2 nor have I used Espom Salts. Someone else may have the advise you proper quantities and concentrations, sorry, but I hope my explanation gives you some insight to what is occurring PS Additional O in the res helps buffer your nutrients solution's pH. Keeping it "higher" by a few tenths (possibly more) depending mostly upon your set up.
I am still fighting a diffentcy Mag. My roots are brown hence the H202 and Epson salt to ad Mag. I am useing the Pure Blend Pro. I have my ppm at 700 still well bellow the recomended dose. I am useing tap water with a ppm of 300. I do Not use CAL-MAG. I add Flora Shield also to my ressy. I have 4 12" air stones in as well. (Drip Sys.) They just had there first feeding sence the ressy clean up and change and the apear to be drooping. I think I am done with Hydro.. -peace-
I tried the h202 & I had nothing but problems such as ROOT BURN.HENCE I STOPED USING IT.As for your mag.problem I also came across that as well. The epson salts works when using it at a rate of 1 tsp. per galon. But heres a better way of corecting the problem.I use general hydroponics flora series. My formula is: Veg. mix pr. gal. Micro-5 Bloom-5 Grow-10 Flwr. Micro-5 Bloom-10 Grow-5 Total ppm= aprox.900 and PH 5.5-5.7 Never had a problem with mg defincecy again. I'm growing White Rhino & my last harvest was 16 oz's. from 14 plants less than 2'high.yahooooh
Thanks ocanabis but I am through with hydro. I have invested alot of money into this with **** to show for it. I am not going to invest any more money. I think soil is best for me. I have 1 female oasis in soil that I started at the same time as my hydro grow and it looks beautiful! So its back to soil I go. Just wish I had grown all my DP seeds in soil. -peace- (Edited by 1bossman at 2:27 pm on Jan. 6, 2004)
1bossman,I know were your coming from,as I had the same thoughts as you, however I'm also stuborn & don't give up easily. When I 1st started hydro I had 14 plants in my NFT system & my crops were 3 to 4 oz's.(pityfull).It took me about 2 years of trial and error. It wasn't untill I got on line before it turned around for me.Now I get 16 oz's minimum. Trial & error=knowlage & experiance.I think with some help u could turn it around .I would like to extend an offer to help if you want.I'll check back here later today or tomorrow, until then be cool.
Use only R/O water and i can almost gaurantee you that you'll do better next Round Bossman. Just try it with one Plant in a DWC hydrobucket if you don't believe me. Don't change anything else. Don't change your nute regimen neither. Tap water is That bad...believe me. I don't even drink the stuff. Wanna see how bad tap water really is ? Do this-Make ice cubes: 1)half of your ice cubes use tap. 2)use only store bought water to make the other half. 3)Inspect them the next day. Can you guess which one is the Tap ice cubes? Yep. The cloudy ice cubes are the tap...Yuck! My first attempts at hydro i tried tap and failed. I don't like the idea of lugging around 5gallon jugz of water...but i had no choice...vegas tap water suckz! conclusion-before you decide to give up on hydro...give store bought water a go...
