CAn anyone tell if this is a hermie? its been under 12/12 for bout a month and it showin signs of both male and female. theres yellow dust that has seem to come out of the little sacs . its hard to tell cuz it has white hairs all over it. let me kno wut you guys think. thanks for the feedback CaPtAiN:scream:
It's a hermaphrodite! That'd be a bonafide hermie... The 'yellow dust' coming out of the male sacs is POLLEN. Your plant has both male and female flowers. It has already pollinated itself, and will result in very seedy bud. What you do with it, is up to you. You could finish it out, and pick all the seeds out. Or just trash it. If you have any other female plants near this plant that are flowering, chances are they are pollinated also, and will grow seed. I would say if u have other plants growing, and dont wish to have them pollinated, I would remove the hermie. :gl: GFam
Ya man, if u have other plants growing, definately get rid of the hermie.. Are your other plants flowering as well? Or are they in a seperate veg room? IF they are flowering and have already put out female pistils, they are more than likely pollinated as well.. GFam
Don't go killing any other's until you're sure. I don't know the stat's, but I beleive it's highly likely that the rest will herm, also. Still! You never know. My 1st grow was soil; didn't really know shit. They all hermed. Fuck it! I kept them all; finished them. Smoke almost wasn't worth the time; although 'the kid'(20yr. old)liked it. When it was almost gone, I realized that it was curing almost 3 month's. The next time I smoked it...I got F'd up!
Definitely a hermie You should have yanked it when you spotted the first sack. Now you've contaminated your grow room with pollen. I'd pull the hermie and carefully check the other girls to see if they are hermies. Then empty the room and disinfect the entire room with a hydrogen peroxide solution. A tablespoon of over the counter 3% to a gallon of water should do the trick. You want to kill that pollen so it doesn't cause seeds in your next crop. Whether you are better off starting a new crop or keeping the existing one depends on how far along you are. It's going to be seedy ditch weed. Ultimately you have to figure out what is best for you. If it's early on you might be better off getting a new crop ready to flower. That would take me about 6 weeks. I'd just grow the contaminated girls until the new crop needed the room and then harvest the contaminated crop with whatever flowers it managed at that point. Can always make hash with it.
Yup, it's a hermie alright. Let me guess.....bagseed? And now your growroom is filled with pollen. You're gonna end up with seeds this time around, trash the seeds and clean your growroom THOROUGHLY. Good luck with your grow. Plant looks healthy other than having balls.
Herm. Pull it for hash. When did it spray pollen? If it has been within a day I would thoroughly drench the other plants with a mister until the water is running of the buds. It can help slow or stop any further contamination. If you have a fan blowing on your plants the damage has most likely already been done tho.
If this plant was majorly stressed and then hermied then all the seeds produced on that plant and others pollinated by it will be feminized and you could still try them out. If this plant was in good health and under stress free conditions and still hermied then the seeds would also be feminized, but since it's genetic and not environmental, you should trash em because the offspring will most likely hermy as well. Since it's hermied so early and so dramaticly i'd suspect the latter
That won't be feminizied they will be hermaphordized. True feminized seeds are from STS treatments I don't care how companies like GHS and soma do it with extended light periods and flowering times, that's why you see so many claims of hermie plants from their feminized stock. Also sounds like you need to clean the room, you said it had yellow dust on it, that would be the pollen that has already dropped.
yeah I'd say finish it out and take what you can, sounds like your grow room is pretty thoroughly pollinated if you are seeing the yellow dust. Hey you could always make hash or use it for that "liquid thc sugar" I recently read about in high times.
