Ok so I had 2 of my girls start throwing :nanner: :nanner: on the tops of all of the tallest buds. I picked one set off 2 days ago and then looked last night and found them all over. Proababy picked about 20 sets off between 2 plants. Now I'm 50 days in, planned on taking them to 70. They were getting their last feed tonight then start flushing. My question is to you guys..........how would you go about it?? They all seemed pretty slim and sterile, and since it didn't happen to any of my other 2 girls in there I'm thinking it's just genetics since its the same 2 clones. Should I cut tonight and have a bunch of non-flushed premi bud, or should I start flushing tonight and keep a close eye on them, continuing to snip of :nanner: :nanner: when I see them??
Man wtf cutting them off ? I guess if it flowering in wk 7 i would do the same. Think you shocked ur plants?
Hey Sticky- 20 days left and 2 of four plants afflicted? I'd chop the hermie plants within the next couple days for early bud or hash and finish the others. The nanners won't drop pollen for a few days after showing but why risk it? cheers,
My vote is fuck it let them go the damage is all ready done & just try to pick the nanner off it's just 20 more days & I think your get more out of them by letting them go.But after their done clean your growroom real good just my 2 cents-Bud
Bncool- Ya everything I read says to pull them off but in all likely hood you will not get them all. Res- Those 2 are same clones, my Dopeman I got from a local buddy. My 2 SSSDH girls have shown no signs of them so thats what made me think it was maybe just genetics. I've read of strains, like Sour Diesel, throwing sterile nanners at the end of flowering. I would just hate to cut these with no flush if it wouldn't hurt anything to let them go at least another week to get a decent flush. And the one girl is my little monster.........
Be on the safe side What would anyone have to say about picking up a couple transparent giant leaf bags and covering the two he/she's up? Anyone think it would/could work for a week or so? Just my innovative mind a thinkin'... JJb asssit:
well you can pick them all day.... but what happens if the pollen gets out? You touch it...then other female plants and you be stuck with seeds.:anibong: This is a hard decision
I would finish them out and watch them. You can spray them with a sprayer with plain water and that will make the pollen if any escapes non viable. Or you can spray them with penetrator and reverse and most of the time that will stop the nanners. Teamster6
If it's just the 2 and the other 2 are looking perfectly normal, then I'd either separate the plants to keep the non-hermies from being seeded by a hermie. Or chop the hermies! If you can't separate them and ensure the pollen can't escape, then I'd chop and be happy with what you got. You don't want buds full of seeds and little nanners. I'd rather have a little smaller alittle immature buds that look nice, over the hermie looking bud. Not very special looking. Tough choice. Good luck. Keep up informed.
I get nanners once in awhile. I pick them off, but I never had a problem with them. Out of my last grow, I found 2 seeds. (12 oz.)How long does it take to form a seed? 4-5 weeks. It's your call. peace. G_B
I would keep an eye out for more, snip em and let your plants ride. It's not like the buds will become seed infested overnight, much less 20 days from now.
Just remember. White hair= Not pollinated Fast browing hair=Pollinated Slow browing hair=Good smoke peace. G_B
I agree with HeadCase. Fuck before we all started growing our own smoke we bought weed with plenty of seeds in it. Let em go till finish, I would much rather my bud have a few seeds and be ripe than chop a couple good yielding plants prematurely.
From my limited growing experience I'd have to say I'd let them go, also. Spray them down every few days with plain pH adjusted water like teamster6 said. The way I see it, you've got 20 days til harvest at the time of the original post. A few days for the nanners to grow would leave you with what... 17-18 days left... Surely seeds won't mature much in that short period of time?
