hmmm maybe they could go to work at the gov's mansion, sweeping up his bullshit. better, they could all be sent to mexico, a fair trade for all the trouble the illegals have caused cali.
The way I understood that was they were going to put those with less than 12 months to serve on home detention.
They are saying that along with house arrest, they will all be non-violent offenders. Still, it doesn't help when the unemployment rate is at it's highest point and you take another 75,000 people and throw them on the streets without even a prospect of a job. :icon_scratch: Are they not getting their civil unrest they seem to be pushing for fast enough? hmmm, let's throw 75k criminals on the street and see if that helps. hyeah:
Look at the plus side.....that's 75K fewer mouths we tax payers have to feed. True...they will not have a job, but this way at least they have to feed themselves. Most will probably get on welfare and suck our tit that way instead. Gotta love California. :roulette:
Califonicater THEY SHOULD JUST LET OUT ALL THE DRUG OFFENDER THAT ARE IN FOR POSESSION:roulette: :bong2: assit: :fly: :fly:
Straw argument. I own guns and have lots of kids in my home. Should a bust in my home be treated any differently than in my car?
Eggzactly Resin. I feel each case should be relevant to the case. I think a better way to look at that issue is to see if the person was violent or not. Also...were they street dealers with kids in the house or where they everyday average joe's (no..not YOU Joe....well ok maybe) not hurting anybody? There's a huge difference there when it comes to who to let out and why. Unfortunately our court system is very generalized. The law itself is generalized while judges and juries are encouraged to ignore specifics of the case and simply focus on whether or not the law was broken. Many times evidence is withheld due to the case being Federal rather than local. Bad laws should be looked at and put to rest IMO, but I fear that may never happen.
What's the average guy suppose to think when they hear you had weapons, children and drugs? I agree completely with what you guys are saying but were not exactly average citizens now are we? Edit typed guns instead of drugs
Why are we NOT average citizens? :icon_scratch: I own a home, I have a job, pay taxes, vote, I have 2 cars, a wife, a kid, two dogs, and a credit card....and I own guns....several in fact. I even have bullets to put in them. I'm about as "average American" as you can get. Are you saying I'm not an average citizen simply because I :jmorph: ?
I'm not saying anything about you. But you are a common criminal in the eyes of a lot of people that would make up your jury
Unfortunately MK it could easily be construed that way and I'm afraid you could very well be right. A shrewd prosecotur would be foolish not to attempt to anyway. Prohibition's a bitch.
The economy is going to get worse in the next couple of years. Obama is a great person, but presidency is not his forte. In these economic times of hardships, he is not capable of predicting the future, and nor are any of his economic colleagues. They make critical assumptions based on past patterns and base future results on probably. Obama has increased the overall budget at least 400% since coming in office in January. How bad is the economy? Bad. But is that going to be your excuse for not getting out there and finding a job? Is that going to be your excuse to why you aren't wealthy? Blame anything you want, but the economy is somewhat insignificant to your lifestyle considering wages increase with the ratio of inflation. The next time you get a raise or notice a raise in minimum wages, it's a correction to the ratio of inflation. So far, we're at 3.2% inflation, which isn't very good. The purchasing power of the dollar loses half of face value every ten years, thank Richard Nixon for that. Refer to 1974 for more information on that. In my opinion, and I'm no professional and I'm not giving stock advice, but in about 3 years, unemployment should be back where it was maybe 3 years ago, and we'll be closer to breaching the light at the end of the tunnel. It is no ONE's personal reasoning as to why we're in this recession except our own. Sure the government does spend beyond it's means, which isn't good and I acknowledge that. But the citizens are tuning in the news and stay home because they're afraid to leave their houses in fear of losing money and their jobs. It's all psychological. We need to remain calm in these times, or we will end up in tragic times, IE the Great depression of 1929. Have a great day
