Hey, hey, any more sumo fans out there? I love it. Hate Hakuho. Loved Asashoryuu. Like Harumafuji, Baruto, Kakuryuu and others. Local guy in the top division, Okinoumi, gets my support as well. The Japan Sumo Federation has it streaming on their web site. You can watch it right now, although the top division won't come on for another 4 hours. It's still fun to watch the lower division wrestlers. http://sumo.goo.ne.jp/eng/hon_basho/torikumi/eizo_haishin/eizo2.html If you have any comments or questions about sumo, fire away. :catfight:
Hmmmm, did you watch some yesterday? Maybe you saw some lower division guys. When you watch the top division you can't see anything in 30 seconds. Each match takes a few minutes to do the pre-match ritual. The actual match is usually over quite fast, but there is a slow build up to it and the tension of anticipation builds up as well and then the wrestlers jump out and smash into each other like two bulls. I find it quite exciting and interesting even without getting into all the minutiae of the sport. But, to each their own... :bong-2:
, but morbidly obese dudes, in wash cloths, grabbing each other, doesn't interest me. I do like the Hash Pipe video, though
They have a lot of fat, but they also have a lot of muscle, great flexibilty, and very good cardiovascular health. It's an ignorant point of view to just label them as fat guys in diapers. They are athletes, they train every day, and sumo is a form of wrestling, not just "guys grabbing each other." But, thanks for chiming in.
I am not really into Sumo or wrestling of any kind, but I would love to go to a live match. We got an awesome Kendo demonstration when I was over there. Love swords, wooden or not.
Yes, going to a live tournament is way funner than just watching on tv. I've been to the Spring Tournament in Osaka 4 times. It's been a while, though. Being married with kids tends to suck up a lot of the free time and money I used to have.
C'mon man......seriously? lots of muscle? Thats cuz their frame MUST have it and also its proportional to their physical size....Id love to see their fat to muscle ratio and all that sumo is-is a match of larger than life human bodies to see whos stronger, actual wrestling has moves, grips, binding and exploits the less intelligent, in sumo its a rareity to see the obviously smaller guy lose If it were a sport it would be recognized as such, even the olympics wont touch sumo and as for their cardio.......:rofl6:...........them guys have a match in a 10ft round circle, wheres the cardio come in to play at? GTFOH:roffl: I wanna see old yokazuna run a mile in under 10mins and MAYBE ill bite on the cardio but till then a few minute blast of adrenaline isnt cardio by any means..
Why do people have such sure, strong opinions about things they are obviously totally ignorant of? Seriously, I've got better things to do than educate you. asssit:
I'm really trying to like it........just seems sooo...kind of like American football without the ten other guys.
Love ya bro but i warched a 7 minute video and saw a clearly different Sumo. You sound like a tool bro....ill sumo your face... Seriously thought their legs were huge those guys are immensely strong! and tha move quick ! they went into the stands on that one. But there are many different techniques bro...Oshidashi is the only one that stands out but watch the video...i love sumo Hank thanks for making me a fan....suck it secrete
Hank, i can have any opinion i want buy hey as usual thanks for letting me keep it oh wise one:good job: and Stash, the only tool is the guy that uses "bro":bduh:
, dude, but everything in that "seriously?" post was incorrect. It's not me being wise, it's you not knowing what you are talking about. :F-A-Q:
