Because the main water line broke and I have not had a shower in more than 2 days. Ha Ha made you look. Well, at least you get to take a shower, and you know....drink water. Am I correct in assuming I should either be put in a hotel or reimbursed for the 2+ days the water has been turned off? I mean, it's unlivable. Can't even flush! It went off about 9pm tuesday, and it's now technicly Friday. It's around $25 per day for my apartment, I seriously am thinking about demanding $50 -$75 or withholding it from my rent. I just had to go to walmart at midnight so my animals wouldn't die of dehydration.....and ewwww I had to "clean myself" in the apartment pool. I don't care how shiny it looks, I know your asses havn't emptied it for the 4 years I have been living here! By this time its probly 99% evaporated pee and chlorine, not to mention the ducks that "winter" in it..... And to top it off, the main line is right outside my bedroom window and their machine is fucking loud. (really, I will go take a picture from my bedroom window if you don't believe me) I feel bad for the 6 foot tall guy in the hole right now, but the landlords, uh uh, they are cheap bastards and I think imma be one too... Should I demand the money or withhold it from next rent? Or be a good little girl and just complain on GK to all my homies.... (and just to throw this in, I cannot wash my hands....and if you know me at all, you know that I do that about 100 times a day)
i would demand half or maybe even a whole months rent tell them you almost lost your job because you were unable to maintain personol hygiene and they wouldn't let you work
This thread could have been sooooo much better, but I dont think your landlord is responsible if its a city line that broke, if it were inside the building it may be a different story. I went through the same experience, my landlord put a space heater in the well shed to keep the lines from freezing and end up burning the fucker down. I went three weeks without water, in fucking January. I ended up driving eight miles into town to the gym every morning to take a shower.
Is there a pool at your apt complex?? I would just jump in if they had one or can you go to a frds/family to shower? I feel for ya sis>>I love my hot showers, pool or a nice bubble bath.
Talltrees interesting idea lol.....cept I am a really bad liar. Like, really bad. I'm sure I would fuck it up somehow, and i'm sure they would want proof. Tripper I will check my lease. It's the main line for the whole apartment complex, so there are many other dirty folks right now...but the houses across the street have water (I used their hose a few times today), so I don't think it's the city. Mermaid I did go in the pool, check first post (don't worry I always skim too) but really I consider the muddy water in the grass cleaner than an apartment pool. Bright side, literally I guess.....I just went out and supplied them with a 250 MH (to borrow) and they said it really helps them see as their lights were little CFL work lights. Yeah, I know, I didn't really think about the fact that they probly now know I grow.......it's kinda too late now. Hopefully they will remember the nice lady who gave them light and not break into my house later....
We agree, the landlord is responsible for providing a habital living space, if it is not there are options available to you, ie hotel, rent with a friend temporarily, and the landlord is who you deal with for reimbursement, his ass can deal with the city who provides water later on. No water means an uninhabital apartment !!
awe no nudes When you said dirty !!!!!I just had ta look! !opcorn-2: opcorn-2: opcorn-2: :droooling: :droooling: :roffl: IF ITS BETWEEN THE METER AND APARTMENT COMPLEX YOUR LANDLORD IS RESPONSIBLE IF IT'S BEFORE THE METER THE CITY OR WATER CO. IS RESPONSIBLE. IF ITS THE APARTMENTS LANDLORD PROBLEM YOU COULD HIRE A POTABLE WATER TRUCK AND SPLIT WITH THE OTHER TENANTS THE LANDLORD WILL HAVE TO REIMBURSE IF ITS THE WATER DEPARTMENT FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE CITY AND LET THE NEWS MEDIA IN AND THE PUBLICITY WILL GET YOU WATER FASTER :thumbs-up: GOOD LUCK IF YOU WAS CLOSE ID LET YOU USE MY Facilities
This might sound weird..which of my posts do, I'm sure.. But me and the GF had a non-showering contest a few years back while on vacation at home.....and I'll tell ya..it really wasn't that bad... although she beat me 9 days to 7... Agreed with the Tron and the other though.. you reserve the right to be accomodated. Although for a few days.. you may have to go to small claims to be reimbersed... As an aside...think of it as going camping and have some bottled water on hand to wash them paws.
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions guys. THE WATER IS BACK ON YAAAAAY, and they politely returned my MH . Tips on how I survived the week. Wet wipes. Lots of them. It's funny because every time I smell a wet wipe of a certain brand (Clorox) it reminds me of my weeks in Mexico on mission trips where I must have gone though over 10 huge bottles of these. Those helped immensly, but like I told my mom, at least Mexico had water I just couldn't drink it! Or shower, but that was because we were in a tent city. Borrow neighbors hoses. They are readily given Apartment pool when I was covered in mud, dog poop, and blood (don't ask, just know it was not dog blood!) They turned it on for us in the middle for a short time and I filled the bathtub and every cup/water bottle/pot pan and bowl I had at the time, it was brownish because of the leak, but still, so much better than nothing and no I did not drink it. Walmart 5 gallon filling station, a godsend. Now that I am clean and happy again I am not ever going to mention it. I'm sure at least 10 neighbors complained and I doubt it's going to do me any good, i'd rather just keep out of the way. I could handle the water loss until last night with the dog poop, mud and blood incident, I was pretty seething mad, but today it's alllll good!
