Is it ok attaching a carbon drum to the exhaust pipe

I have only just started growing and have a tent with 2 lights and it got really hot in there so I used an extractor fan to pump out side air into it which made it swell up like a bouncy castle, and then i noticed really bad condensation where big blobs of water was hanging from the ceiling, and everything was starting to get really damp,so now i have reversed the extractor to suck out air and filter it through my carbon drum, the damp problem is solved but what affect will this have on my carbon filter? and will my plants be fine with out an intake and just the vents on the tent open?
