So I just want to be sure I'm not going to be harming my lighting or hardware or anything, really.

I'll need to turn off my light so I can remove a piece of ducting in order to use it for my carbon filter... The plants will have some ambient light from the room, so I figure they'll be fine.

I think the only rule I need to follow is that the HPS should be turned off for at least 15 minutes before turning it back on again, is that correct?

Dont see any harm in a brief interuption in your light cycle, everything should be fine

Spink, It depends on the balist. I was looking at a new digital balist that needed no time. Or a minute or two, something like that.

Mine has a 15 min. delay built in.

    peace.
