Months ago on my first dwc set up I did some C99 from Clone, got over 5 oz from that. A lot of learning on that set up. Today I started a new DWC set up with three C99 plants from seed. Seeds are Female Seeds C99. I had three sprouts, so I put the two smaller ones in one net pot, prob not the best Idea, but we'll see. so here we go with the start of week one in veg.......:popcorn-2:

Surely those aren't your new beans. Looking good, the 2 together might not be too bad if you don't vegg to long. I like to vegg long enough to get a couple clones at least. They'll grow pretty fast in DWC, but you've already seen that!! Good luck!!

Yeah, the new C99 beans I got are from G13 labs, they are put up for now. I had 4 of the female seeds c99 left over and only 3 poped, so since I didn't have luck cloning those before I am going to do them all the way from seed in a dwc. They did turn out great in soil from seed. I figure they will turn out twice as good with dwc.......:thumbs-up:

updatewell after a week, the roots are not thru the net pots yet, I am guessing it takes longer for the roots to grow from seed than clones do. I hand watered them twice. I forgot to add these are under flow lights until I get room in my 400w mh spot.

Quick update, on the bigger sprout the roots are two inches out of the bottom of the net pot. The plants have got a lot bigger just two days after putting in another air stone. These are going to b monsters. I am loving DWC!!!

Will post new pics in two days.

When you say under flow lights, do you mean flower lights?

Fluorescent lights. It's a shop light with two 22" bulbs. They are plant aquarium bulbs.

UpdateThe roots on both pots are about 6" in the water, so they are off to a good start.

I didn't expect that much of a jump in growth using florescent lights, usually in soil, it takes twice as long., so I got a little corner in a closet working away at DWC. I am going to have two mother plants in soil till I get a mom tote made up, should be cool and then the dirt will be gone. No more trips to the dirt store to get dirt every two weeks, then the back breaking work and the mess, all the other ferts I used in soil can be gone and now just use the GH 3 formula and everything looks great, with that system, they plants look great all the way to flush time.

Me, after growing in dirt for over 12 years, I am hooked on DWC now, I am going to hook it up like some other set up's I have seen around this place. I will b the poster child of DWC just wait and see..............:coolbounce:

another updateStill kicking! From seed, what's a good height to start flowering in DWC? I don't want them to get too big in flower. I guess I should get them topped soon also.

About 12-18 inches should do it.

Have any nodes started to alternate yet. Some say to wait till they alternate but with femed seeds may not matter. I haven't grown from seed for so long. I know they usually won't show sex till they alternate.

But those babies are in high gear and looking good so getting on to flower may keep them under control size wise. I usually wait too long and have monsters to deal with. Good luck!!!

Yeah I hate growing from seed when you got height restrictions. With clones you already got alt nodes from the start.

Damn those things look gorgeous, AND only 2 weeks veg time!

Yeah I would def top those suckers ASAP. And I would wait for alternating nodes before flowering. I know you CAN flower before you have alternating nodes, but I have always read that they are a sign of plant maturity, and readiness for flowering.

Yeah I should have topped my last round, I am beginning to think I took side branches for clones last time because the plant was so big. That's prob where I made my mistake. Plant didn't have alt nodes yet.
