It was a big deal about the cat in Uganda using children in his army. A real sadist. Then it hooked into a big fund raising question mark and fell off my radar. Just read another article and it dawned on me the issue went silent recently and wondered if I'm just not up to speed.

I remember the whole P.Diddy pledge to expose Kony and tghe whole stopkony2012 thing, then i remember the baklash against it and stories about where the money actually goes and how muh to Uganada, etc.I read a few commentaries about it in the broadsheets and online and it seemed there was some scam about the guy who made the film but i never found out if it was genuin or bullshit.I didnt see anything wron with them highlighting it,i didnt buy into the conservative rhetoric of how we shouldnt support this as it is condescending to Ugandans as they want to sort out their own affairs:eusa_eh: The guy may have made a few bucks but he highlighted summit i knew little about even if it was for his own ends.I'll need to scout about on that actually:jj:

I stopped thinking about it once I saw Jason Russel's naked butt slapping the sidewalk outside his house in a fit of hysteria. The scandelous nature of the whole thing set me off as well, especially since Kony is not suppossed to be there anymore and all the footage is years old.

See, that's what I can't figure out. If Kony is indeed inactive or if it's just disinterest since a celeb de cause was embarrassed?

    wee off topic rant,lol

Theres conflicting and biased opinions everywhere on this subject.Hes alive and underground OUTSIDE of Uganda and the people of Uganada seem to acknowledge this. The piece below id heard before saying hes dead and same with Obama but then again Uganda and surrounding areas have great natural resources the US would love to open up to the world and Africa is kinda the new Al Quieda HQ with Somalia and the Skeleton Coast being a safe haven for them due to pirates.Kony is a bastard but fuck him,Al Asaad in Syria blows him out the water, why he fuck aint we in Syria like we were Iraq, its a fuckin scandal and i realise China and especially Russia stand in our way with veto due to russias only middle east base being in Syria, also any ally of Iran is an ally of Syria. That place NEEDS UN intervention,no in fact it just needs a fighting army in there to help these guys complete their arab spring before it turns winter.Fuck Kony,im sure theres a price on his head now, lets deal with the real arseholes, just my :2c: cos the Syria shit is on my tv 24/7 and its sickening how we let this guy get away with this, far worse than Saddam,on a par with Gaddafi and Milosevic:sad4: His Dad was worse! :rantover:

Kony: Ugandan Says He’s Already Dead

    March 9, 2012, 4:23 pm

The “Stop Kony” movement on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube has gotten a lot of traction lately. The Ugandan guerrilla leader, Joseph Kony, has become a household word since a viral video was released telling of his abuses and viciousness. John Vinson reported on it here on Wednesday.

However, another video is going viral that was made in response to the first. A girl from Uganda living in the U.S. says that the entire movement and uproar is misled. She does not defend Kony. Rather, she says that the people of Uganda know that Kony is already dead and has been for five years. She goes on to criticize the “Invisible Child” organization that raises funds from the video, saying that they keep a lot of the money.

The response seems odd, though not entirely unbelievable. The biggest curiosity about the whole thing is that the United States government seems to think Kony is a living threat. In May 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama signed the Lord’s Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act into law, funding efforts to stop the leader.

This is just my rant thread now, lol, soz for the hijack Res!

Yeah my political leaning is to right wing Lennonism..... John Lennonism:eusa_think::eusa_eh: But seriously...how all them halfwits can sit at the UN and take their job seriously is a sick joke, they make decisions too late and when they do the sanctions are lightweight token sanctions...no use none of it,they are good for peace keeping and disaster relief but the politics side of the UN to actually STOP genocide and shit...they stink at it.YEAH,im only finally realising they aint worth shit. All running round like headless chickens:roullette: Personally im curious just to how many citizens we gonna watch this Assad kill before we do summit. This guys all there and a bit more, oxford educated married to some high society brittish bird.Give him exile somewhere or threaten war and i think he would flee to Iran.Whats the point in the might of all our armies over the world when we cant actually do diddly squat when they are needed. This feels like Milosevic when it took ages before the UK and NATO done summit about it.Iv not got 'world policeman syndrome' lol, just cant believe what we let slide and what we dont in Foregin Affairs.Peace:smokin:

Hijack away Ap. At some point we'll get back to the original question.

United Nations: A modern equivalent of medieval European fiefdoms.

Them ambassadors and staff are nothing more than lords and their court. Bluster around, collect $$ and do little. Rife with corruption, nepotism and every other political ill third world countries and G8 members alike can thrust upon it. Fuck the UN.

I'm of a mind we do nothing. All it is is a battle to see who's going to reap the rewards of corrupt political systems. Market wise I'm a globalist, but that ends when a country seeking aid or open markets is despotic or enforces tarifs.

Cut off all trade, all funding, all corporate interaction (which would reduce the wholesale rape of third world natural resources), all banking. No $$ coming in to fight over might reduce the local warlord regimes or at least leave them less well funded.

Me too. First thing, DC is a med District so I'd get a card then I'd work to legalize prostitution. All the toking and whoring going on in the Oval Office would make Billy Clinton look like a school boy.

If i was President,Team America woulda took Kony,Assad & Bono out already!!

Black Ops 2 is like the event of the year for me,im a sucker for my COD and PS3 but its a lot less dangerous and more healthy than some of my other recreational activites in the past so its my one vice i allow myself when the wee chap is in bed at night...

Back to the thread topic about Syria(lol, just messing Res:icon_biggrin:),well about Syria anyways, this fucking Assad character is at it again, hes all over my news every night,is it the same over there?Hes taking the piss and Res if i was your secretary of defence id already have gave the greenlight to sealteam6 to shine a light on this guys head cos i can honetly see this shit leading to some dire days in the future.Like i said, fuck Kony when this guys doing this shit right here right now, lets nip him in the bud before he starts getting to ridiculous levels of his own people killed.Times like this a President SHOULD be using his executive privelege and calling in TEAM AMERICA:rocker:

It's a lose lose proposition. Do nothing and a despot is left to his own nefarious means. Act unilaterally and the world stage kicks you in the balls for imperialism and you know western Corp giants will only feed the frenzy by jumping into the market created. It's not Yugoslavia with little natural resources. We're talking a country where the call of "Blood for oil" would easily resonate. 30 years later we'll still have troops, stations and equipment there as a peace keeping force at an enormous cost.

    Pick your poison buddy.
