For those that don't know this is a treaty whereby the countries that sign have to reduce greenhouse gass emissions to combat global warming. Nearly every first world country has signed except the USA. If you ask me they are just being greedy. The greenhouse gasses being emited harm everyone so that in exchange the USA does not have to slow down its industrial production and can hog more money from the rest of the world.
I heard a long time ago that America had scrapped its clean air act so that Brazil could sell its petroleum there. Apparently they couldnt before because of the emissions so they were banned. Brazil then said well take you to court for not allowing us to make a profit in your country1 So they scrapped the act and now you have shite fuel with horrendous fumes! Summat like that!
kyoto was not signed because the two top polluting countries in the world would not sign. india and china would get to pollute with no consequences. we already have some of the strictes ecological laws ion the world. anybody here ever seen a picture of the smog cloud that permanently hovers over southeast asia. most of this pollution doesnt even come from industry. it comes from the amount of burning the people do. 2 billion people in asia burning cow **** takes its toll.
that cloud will blow away. im talking about a permanent part of the atmosphere. the picture from space covers all of southern asia. the crops and plants there are seriously dieing from the lack of sunshine and acid rain. califoria's smog is a baby compared to asia. i live in the san bernardino valley and i know what smog is like. asia is seriously going to die if they dont do something quick.
Its pretty obvious that "blowing away" isn't the answer. We most certainly won't have any room to bitch at SE Asia until there is something better coming from us than "letting the businesses regulate themselves".
