I had a 1000 MH in the hood below, which was way too hot for my small space without AC. So I took it out and replaced it with this LED Lumigrow Pro325. I didn't really need to do it since the thing produces such little heat. But in the summer ANY heat removal from my integrated rooms is good, and the ductwork was already there from the MH. I wanted to experiment with the light, so here goes.

    First do one of these.

The hood is actually cool to the touch. Glass too.

Wow, you can adjust the power to each color of light??? Control knobs looks like ones on my guitar amp. Lol

The light is a loaner from a guy who bought it but wasn't happy with the results. Still researching the thing, but for now I have just the white lights on, no blue or red. I think those color dials are a bit gimmicky, as is the switch for leaf vs eye LOL From what I've read so far it's damn near impossible to get the spectrum right with hand controls and plant response alone. So I am planning to use the light for vegging or moms, and just run the whites.

i think you will have better results with a unit with kNOWN light spectrum - no silly controls.....

Without accurate knowledge of the light output - you are basically pissing in the wind

I went with Lumigrow myself, ordered them 2 days ago. I'm in control of the levels from vegg to flower, not the manufacturer. All lights are not preset for cannabis or a specific stage of growth. And they have a 5 year guarantee which nobody else I found could match. Each to his own!!

Area51 has lifetime warranty lol... And a killer spectrum for cannibis. Lumigrow looks interesting but super expensive.... I question how do you know exactly what spectrum you ate dialing in?

Will be following. The pro 650 was ok but nothing what it claimed. Ran cooler than the solar storm 800s but pretty weak on output. Pretty pricey, good warranty but I don't have faith in hydrofarm from an led perspective. Hope CG has good experience with it. Not a lot of info out there on the forums really. Only one I've seen in person though is the ones my buddies dad bought, one of the people telling me I ought to check out some leds. Other than the one setup at the store.

I seen this on one of the area 51 light ad's.

"Power Source: Cree XTE Warm White 3750k XTEAWT-02-0000-00000BFF6"

I am not sure, but is the last set of numbers a color spectrum number of some sort?

I think that light you have there FF is bright as hell, it burns my eyes to look at it in the picture, It looks like it would work good. Brighter than FLorecent lights that's for sure.....

The last four are a couple of things. Color specification which is the rendering index(CRI) flux, and chromaticity kit. Whatever the hell that means. LOL it doesn't appear like any of it particaularly tells you the color temp or much of anything. The number as a whole is just a part number basically. Shows that it's the top bin 3750K XTE made with a minimum CRI of 70.

This tells you a good amount.

Yeah, the price was a turnoff till I found the 325 pro for $699 each from an aquaponics and hydro company that does a shitload of commercial greenhouses.

The Area 51 units I looked at came with a 'limited' lifetime warranty. The light arrays and electronics were warrantied for 24 months which is better than many others. Several other companies had only a 1 year. I did like their rebuild policy, they estimated at $250, which is a hell of a lot less than replacing the unit.

I owned retail businesses long enough to know that warranties, to a certain point, is hype. eg, A 30 year is not realistically better than 25 cause it's most likely pro rated. And who the fuck files a warranty claim in 26 years?

Yeah Skunky, I kinda looked at the 650 which they had at $1199 but went with 2 of the 325's to get more coverage.

JCIO, if you're talking about the '3750K', it's a heat #. It's the color that a light filament would give off if it were heated to 3750 Kelvin (a unit of heat). It starts on the 'red' end and the hotter it gets works it's way to the 'blue'.
