Are munching on my buds. Looks like they are leaving some fine silk behind also. This is an outdoor grow in northern Calif. Anyone know what they are and how to kill them?

I wouldn't spray buds with an insecticide.

    Pick them off.

    peace.

They are moth larvae and they DO munch buds. Harvest now, or they will keep eating and you'll lose more. It's too late in the season to treat them with pesticides so your best bet is to harvest early and remove all the caterpillars by hand. I have had them before years ago and they will destroy your crop.

those lil bastards almost ruined my whole crop this year as well...harvesting early sux but might as well get what you can out of it because it will destroy everything VERY QUICKLY! good luck.

Made up some hot pepper spray and it seems to be working. Started flush today so don't want to harvest just yet.

Good luck on that. I wouldn't spray my buds with anything at this stage of flowering indoors or outdoors, organic or not, period! The buds WILL absorb and retain some of what you spray on them at this point. I would harvest and make hash if I were you, but I'm not, so good luck.
