My 4 week old plant is under some heavy downpoor for 2 days, will it be alright? Should I be concerned?
Eh, I'd say depends on the soil. I know I had a few out, and between all the rain and hail they are trashed. I just threw a few out just to have fun so it was no biggie, but this outdoor season has been rough
Unless your soil is very poorly drained, it should be fine. Extra water won't hurt it. as soon as the sun comes out, it should have a nice growth spurt. asssit:
I keep my soil very well drained by poking holes around it and checking the bottom. I also time the time it takes the water I pour to drain out under the pot.
It won't be a problem. My outdoor herb has been rained and hailed on twice now and it's going strong.
It's doing very well actually. Today it didn't rain, and I went outside and they perked right up from being all droopy yesterday. I tell ya it takes a lot to kill a weed plant, after all it is a weed. And that sweet skunk smell is so awesome, I love the smell.
oregon rain Tell you what go out in the fields look at all the weeds that grow in it if they're okay I thinkyour WEED should be the okay:roffl:
Well I worry when you always read online that overwatering can kill your plant or is very bad for it. Seems like its actually making it grow faster. I'm very close to veg stage now and the stem is getting thicker.
One thing I've found in my last couple grows, is that it's actually pretty hard to kill a marijuana plant once it passes the early seedling stage... I interpret "early seedling stage" as from cotyldone or whatyever(first starter leaves) thru the 3rd set of tru leaves. Once u get that far it should be pretty smooth sailing unless u burn with nutes or let it dry out too much. The way you over water is drenching it too often. A good soaking once in a while, with fair drainage will not hurt it, but if you KEEP it wet, ur basically drowning it and the roots will rot. So in my typical redundant fashion- letting the plant get a good soaking once in a while is good for, and so is letting the roots occasioanlly dry out.... best way to monitor the perfect range... get a moisture meter. Above 3.0 half way into the root ball and moisture should be fine, doesn't need water just yet... but a little dryness is good to help instigate root growth while they stretch in search of water.. 1.5-2.0 is a good range of dryness, to wait for watering, if it drops below 1.5 you'll start to see wilting.... and if it stays at 5.0(estimate, I could be wrong) or higher too long, it'll get droopy from excessive water "soggying" ur plant down.
