one of the other penguins will fall in, and then when they realize they're not going to be eaten alive by some horrible monster, they'll all jump in.
Impressed by the dignity they gave the issue. Something like that on FoxNews or CNN is a 10 minute shouting match with the host overtalking everybody. We'd learn nothing and nobody would have actually made a point. Is the general population consensus thinking it's a big deal either way? Like that they got it right that the US shoved this down the throats of the rest of the world. Most interesting. Thanks Hank.
I liked how tactful the American guy was. He was obviously pro-legalization, but he never said directly "It should be legalized." Just found this yesterday from a link somebody posted in the comment section of this article. So, I'm still curious as to when this took place and who the American guy is. I finally got around to watching this. Very interesting. I didn't really see the racism you mention from the Korean. His point was that they had been using Marijuana for centuries to make clothes, bedding, and to relieve the pain from a hard day's work. That is, until the Americans came around and told them it was evil. The Korean also seems to be the one that is most pro-legalization, if for no other reason to tell the U.S. to shove-it! Perhaps that can be seen as a bit racists... My Mother, who is 70 and pro-legalization, likes to tell how when the Americans came to Korea during the Korean war, they would trade their nice new, clean pillows for the old, dirty worn-out ones the villagers had. Of course the Koreans thought it was a great trade and that the Americans were crazy. Later she found out they were smoking the leaves that were used to stuff the pillows. Turns out, the pillows were stuffed with marijuana leaves. To the Koreans, Cannabis was just a part of life (like the guy in the discussion said). That's what they used, nothing special. Then the Americans came along and told them it was bad... Anyway, that was a very interesting discussion, especially for a Japanese news show. Thanks for posting it.
Exactly. This level headed of a discussion definitely isn't the norm. Most people will just shut off their brains and start repeating "No, it's bad. It's bad." like some kind of mantra.
