The provincial court judge's decision reads:

"It follows therefore, that there is no offence known to law at this time for simple possession of marihuana. The application is allowed."

The judgement makes for heavy reading but it seems that a charge for simple possession can't stick in BC. Will a decision be different where possession was not for medicial purposes? Dealing is still an offence, of course, but that raises the obvious question of what quantity constitutes dealing.

A pharmacist isn't going to be able to teach a little old woman how to roll a joint for the first time. Pharmacists aren't educated around how to teach people about dosing themselves with cannabis.
