i was talking to a friend who said they were talking to someone who works in a mental hospital and they said there has been alot of people in there for mental illnesses caused by HYDROPONIC marijuana. has anyone else heard of this sort of thing?
Id really like to know how in the hell these people come to these conclusions... I think its all a bunch of BS myself. I've been reading about alot of so called research studies that have been blasting marijuana for all sorts of ****, from mental illness to it being linked to the destruction of reproductive organs in men and women, oh yeah, and depression... WHATEVER! as you read on it will usually state that the findings still needed to be elaborated on, another words... they really arent sure! I havent read anything about hydro=Psycho yet anyways... and if marijuana does cause depression in some people, its only because the stuff makes you step back and take a look at the world around you, in a philisophical manner that is! and when ya do that... its pretty easy to get depressed! My theory is that life on earth causes depression! Go to the source of the issue! Peace Love and all that other good ****
Well, if you dont know what your doing when growing Hydro..Then yes, You will have a "mental breakdown" after you see all your plants shriveled up and dead(2 weeks before harvest!!..ouch!).. Then yes, I have to agree..The stress of this loss can send you right to the nut house!..lol! I'll bet almost all of them people locked up tried growing in hydro themselves.. And now there walking around in them institutions in circles Screaming out> "FERTS' "Hydrogen peroxide".."Halide" "Sativa"..Indica" Maxi-grow!,.Ph.. Over and over!.I Can see it now!!! CG
No doubt CG, growing Hydro can do that to ya...alot involved there...but they grow so Quick!!...Love watching those babies grow in hydro.
I find it relieves depression myself. But maybe the people who run mental hospitals ask their patients if they have used drugs, then make the assumption that whatever brought them there was caused by the drugs. Not necessarily true. I was watching a TV documentary the other day about mentally ill street people, and they were saying that mental illness and substance abuse tend to go hand in hand. I can see someone who is troubled or in pain looking to self-medicate, and that could lower the person's inhibitions and maybe trigger "odd" behavior, just as we do weird or silly things when drunk or high, but I don't think it actually causes illnesses like schizophrenia or depression and I tend to think a person would have that illness whether or not they smoked. Unless there's a possibility of some hydro grower feeding the plants weird chemicals. Just like we now know there's a connection between Alzheimer's and aluminum, I wonder if some chemical ferts in high concentrations can cause a problem? You are on to something there....One leads to the other, but I think it's the order that is placed wrong by these so called studies.
i find that any and all studies against marijuana are inconsistent and misleading. i bet if you really talked to this mental hospital worker, then you could get to the bottom of it. maybe this people were busted with weed, and didn't want to go to jail? who knows, but it's complete bullshit, just like the propaganda being served on television. it's sickening. makes me want to puke.
LOL!! If you can master Hydro..Then its a plus.. I know how to grow with an ebb and flow..But, I will stick to my soil grows..So much easier/simpler/cheaper..and best of all "idiot proof"..One day i wanna try Dwc.. Its so dam interesting..And seizure your right,..Them plants grow MUCH faster running hydro..No dought about it.!!! CG
Watching these babies grow, harvesting, curing, and sharing them with friends is the best thing I know for depression!
Growing pot hydroponically doesn't change the chemical make-up of marijuana. I think what they encountered in the fact that most growers who grow hydro grow more potent weed that the usual run-of-the-mill (i.e. dirt weed/schwag) pot, and good, REALLY GOOD/POTENT pot can and will zone you out. Until it 'wears off'. But that's a far cry from mental illness. The goverment knows that once pot/hemp is legalized it will lose millions in contributions from chemical, pharmicutical, agriculture, grain, cotton/textile, law enforcement, judicial, and prison industries; they will stop at nothing to try keeping it against the law.
You got that right, Nick. You'd think they would also see that they could save shitloads on prosecuting people for weed, and how much they could MAKE if they regulated and taxed it like alcohol or cigarettes. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Me and Myself have been growin hydge for a couple years now and we have smoked a fair quantity, We believe theres nothing wrong with us! However we believe the best buds come from good weed, grown in the ground under that big HID in the sky.
Weed does increase your chances of getting a mental illness, especially excessive use. But to be honest i have more chance of being hit by a bus!
The only thing I can think of would be some of the wierd **** people put in their grows. Just reading GK, I've heard of everything from birth control pills to piss to some halfwit trying to grow in cat ****. I suppose its possible some "additive"could give you mental illness. Then there are people soaking weed in embalming fluid and god knows what else. I am sure that natural weed with no additives is NOT going to make me nuts, and I've got 35 years of smokin it for proof!
OK..I piss in my plants and Iam crazy.. So what?.. Who wants to be normal anyways?.. My Vitamin fortified(and then some) piss makes my plants blow up!! It works for me..But, as far as the other additives..Iam cool. CG p.s. I do flush 1 1/2 weeks before harvest..You get it? I flush!! CG.
