Has anyone tried this type of soil with good results? I know miracle gro fertilizers arnt reccomended but hows the soil? Organics are the best to use but im looking on trying something different for a change. Thanks for any feedback!
we'll, ive read that Miracle-Gro Potting Soil is not highly recommended b/c of its acidity. THe soil has a starting pH of 5.0 or something. Thats just what i read, in like...30 different forum posts.
time release ferts in soil is bad for the marijuana cultivator. the plant needs specific nutes at specific points in its life cycle. miragle grow soil doesn't allow that.
That's right. The plant food is re-released everytime you water, whether you've added anything or not. Basically, you lose control of the feeding schedule.
yes ive grown great plant outdoor. shit pot will grow anywhere.ive found weed plants in gravel driveways that look great .no its not the best but itll grow good.but alot of people might disaree.i used miracle grow fertalizer and grew 10 foot monsters.so i dont know why people have problems with them.but theres allways better routes to take.foxfarm
From experience i have used miracle grow soil and jaypee is correct, the soil has a ph of around 5.0. i had to raise the ph level and had to keep a constant eye on it. then i just re-soiled. I will never agail use miracle grow. fox farms ocean forest is the best. it has a ph level of 6.3-6.8 which is of course ideal.
Do you own stock in the company? Quit telling people to use it. You can grow a seed in anything and get a marijuana plant. I think the main goal of this guy and everyone on this site is to harvest the fruit or flower of the plant. With optimal conditions in your soil, water, and air, this can be done well.
MG=BAD.... but you can grow in any decent soil. I hear what your saying BG,for sure you can grow in anything,iv used cheap soil b4 and still had good grows but i dont know about all these american brand soil names you all talk about cos im in the UK but all i know is that for me MIRACLE GROW is a serious NO,NO! Theres no point in going into detail as wawona has already covered the reasons why.Basically MG can = DEAD MJ!!!Try not to use it if you can help it, a good quality repotting soil will serve you well for the rest of your grow with perlite mixed through it.Happy Growing
thanks guys for all the great feedback. So looks like any thing Organic is an ok, i havent really seen fox farms soil around but ill have to keep my eye out for it. I just saw that Miracle Gro soil in a hardware store, and wondered about it. for making this old news to most people. Thanks guys!
Just curious but when did miracle gro start putting their ferts in gravel driveways and out doors!? you won't find timerelease ferts outdoors unless you put them there, the reason a plant you may have seen in a gravel driveway looking so go is because it is feeding off the organic matter that is being broke down for the plant to use which is way better. Also if you grew ten foot monsters out doors using miracle grow more than likely you still had good results because the ferts are able to leach to other areas in the soil as opposed to being in a pot to where it is confined to its space. did you ever think of that?
