Hey guys, im back, i moved away and got a new house, and i just now got my computer fixed. I just made a new box and havent ran anything through it yet. I wanted to consult you, and see what you guys think. My grow box is 24"x21"x24" and consists of two 400watt flo's. I got them at Lowes. I also got a 50cfm bathroom exhaust fan from lowes. I have the lights mounted at the top of the box. With the lights inside, i have around 21" of growth space. I have the exhaust coming out of the top of the box and i was just going to let it exhaust into my closet, or i thought about sending the exhaust down through the floor, because i live in a doublewide, which is on blocks above ground. My questions are, Do you guys think i have enough room to flower say 2 plants in this box? Also Do you think if i exhausted it under the house, that the smell would be very strong? If you think i could flower them in the box i will, but if not, i will find a spot out side, and just grow mothers and cut clones for outside. Also i have another question, Will i need to put my planters on blocks to bring them closer to the light if they are 21" away? I hope you guys find answers to my questions and i appriciate all the help i have gotten here. My goal is to become a better grower, and i am giving it my all. A. You said 400-watt flo's. Do you mean 40-watt? B. Using flo's you need to keep them an inch or 2 from the planttops. C. 21" or vertical space minus 6" for the containers and 2" clearance lights to planttop leaves 13". Considering that marijuana more than doubles in height during flowering, that means you'd have to 12/12 them when they're 5" tall. D. Plants should reach sexual maturity before flowering is induced. This take generally 4--6 weeks, by which time a plant would be quite a lot taller than 6". E. For excellent ventilation, you need an air intake (which could be passive). F. IMO, you'd need a more powerful fan to force warm air downwards.
21" is possible, but your gunna have to tie them down as low as they can go, and keep them smallish. Sounds like a cool setup for vege, but your going to be biting your nails in flower. My plants(below)grew to 24 inches including the pots by partially being tied down and i yeilded 3oz approx a piece. Mature it, hack at it, clone it and youll be sussed.
