Cops dont like it at all. Those are dual Holley 600's 4 barrel's,..Gas mileage you ask?..LOL! 5 m.p.g,Thats on the freeway...CG (Edited by CLOSETGROWTH at 4:05 pm on Nov. 4, 2002)
Tunnel ram, very nice SweetCheeba, personally I'd go for a ZX-9R or a ZX-12R. If you want something in the 600cc size that is more track oriented check out the new ZX-6RR.
No Newfie, Im from Good old Blighty. The R1 is a monster of a machine.TOOOO fast for me.I rode one about 18 mths ago and opened it up to the max.The clutch was slipping a little but still got 138 out of it.Now when your travelling @ that speed on 2 wheels allsorts of things go thru your mind(not just flies and bugs)So i quickly backed off and handed it back. When your going a mile in less than 30 seconds you cant really make a mistake. And too be honest i wouldnt like too.Friends of mine have been injured thru motorbike accidents,so im a little more cautious these days. Gonna get the kids a little 80.cc crosser for christmas.(ssshhhhh,Dont tell them)So i feel another bike is round the corner for me.Just have to get permision from the one eyed witch in the kitchen.
I like bikes too. I bought a second hand Suzuki 1100 but the thing scared the **** outa me so I sold it a year later. Too much power for me...
Jesus christ CG, How many Megabytes of ram and Gigabytes of disk you got in that hemmy? Is that a dual Socket "A"?? What is the clock speed on that sucker?? I Bet round 2500-3000mHz no? LoL j/k That is seriously some beef there. I dont know **** bout motors, But those two big pipes stickin up are neato. LOL, arent those like the breather or air filter? LoL. I know bout carbureators a little. 4 barrel is multi port injection? like 4 injectors or somethin? LOL!! HAHAHA! I SERIOUSLY must like to make a fool of myself. Now, that there is a V-8 from haitis. Seriously, my grandpa used to show me how to work on cars and **** and I just never could get it. I know what most of the doohickeys are and I am slick at knowin when my tires are too low on air. Other than that his teachings were useless. I did pay attention, but it was when i first found out that I had to smoke as much as I could before functioning. LoL. aaaaah. agrowguy
It's called a tunnel ram, it's a modified manifold that accepts two carburetors instead of one, they are usually used on race-built engines or high performance street applications. CG, dual 600's.. that's A LOT. What type of engine in that thing? Unless you have a humungus engine like a 502ci big block Chevy, those carbs are too much, that's 1200CFM. Even for a big block with nitrous, that's too much. Unless you have a 502ci BB you'd get better low and mid range performance with different carbs. You're good for 900HP with those carbs and unless you are putting out that kind of power you are sacrificing throttle response, low and mid range power. You said something about owning a shop, if you have them available put some different carbs on that thing. Holley 450CFM Chokeless Mechanical Secondary 4 barrel carbs are designed specifically for tunnel ram applications, you may want to check those out. Use this formula: CID x Max RPM รท 3456 = CFM necessary/desired If your max RPM is 7000, this is the carb you want 350: 708 - buy a 750cfm, or two 390 holleys 383: 775 - buy an 800, or two 400's 396: 802 - buy an 830, or two 450's 427: 864 - buy an 870, or two 450's 454: 919 - buy two 500's 502: 1016 - buy two 570's I wasn't about to do ALL the calculations lol. True, Them carbs are a bit much for the 1970 Lt1 350.I rejetted both of them Holley's and she runs fairly well now The low end torque of a motor with a tunnel ram and dual holley's suffer. But,with the cam iam running along with the 3500 rpm stall converter,Flowmasters, and the 2.02 heads it runs in harmony.Iam Thinking of injecting Nitrous into the runners..The best time to date 11.18 In the 1/4 mile..Not too shabby I have one toy in the shop that runs a 671 Blower..It means Business.I'll take a shot, and post her..
