Hi all, I have a 250W HPS unit I aquired from a former place of employment. It's a friggin' huge ballast with the socket mounted on it.(warehouse light). I've used it as it is for a year now, but I want to re-locate the ballast out of the grow room and use a standard horizontal hood. I need a wired socket to mount to a hood. Does anyone have a link to a parts supplier? Thanks...
Well if it already has a mogul socket with i suspect it does since you have been using it,all you need to do is detach the socket from the ballast and rewire it with a longer cord to make it a remote ballast. All you need to know to wire it should be here: http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/1151
One problem you might run into is your ignitor might not work properly if it wasnt made for over 2 ft of wire between the ballast and the light. some ignitors will have a sticker that says this right on them. just my $0.02
