Hey everyone, I'm glad I found this site. I've been lurking for weeks and doing some experimenting on my own over the last 4 months. I've been doing some straight forward test grows using just bagseed and Jacks Classic. I used a regulard 4 foot Flouro for germinating and flowering. I planted 2 seeds with organic and 3 seeds with regular soil. I realize this is not nearly enough light but I didn't care. I had a lot of fun doing it. Anyways, All but one of the organic pots was male. The one that remains looks like it may be male but I'm going to let it go and see what happens to it. I don't think it will amount to anything but we will see. I'm about to start my first real grow in about a week. I plan to do this all with T5 Flouro's (4 lampx2") purchased from HTG Supply. I am renting so I am going with the flouro's for stealth. I've seen decent things produced by them so I wanted to give it a try. I purchased a pack of AK47xLowryder2 from Dr Chronic. Let's not get into how they suck or how they are a waste. After all, I am a noob so what can you do. I also have some good seeds a veteran grower friend of mine gave me...I don;t remember what they were. I'm saving those for after this AK47 is attempted. I am just stoked knowing that I may be smoking my own grow. I'm horrible with keeping a journal but I will do my best to update occasionally with pics. Let's see what happens.

Well as you know you are going to need an HPS for a good yeild. The flouros will do it but it wont amount to much. When it is all said and done, you will be lucky if you get a 1/4oz out of it. However it will be the best bud you ever smoked because you grew it. Try to add as many CFLs as you can. The more the better. Keep the lights about an inch or two from the top of the plant. , from one new grower to another. I'm interested to see how those AK X lowryder2 turn out under T-5's. Hopefully they stay short enough light penetration won't be too much of an issue. Do you plan to do some mating and grow your own seeds? Seems like that would be the way to go with autoflowering strains. Good luck.
T5's would be good for veg but I would take Neon420's advice and get a HPS for flowering. I started off with 2 fluros then went to CFLs for veg. I held off on flowering till I got a HPS. . :growin:
Due to many factors, I've decided to go T5 from beginning to end. Heat and stealth are my primary concerns. I racked my brain and did the scenarios over and over in my head. My head was spinning and I was wasting too much time researching lights. HPS would def be better but don't want to be worrying about the extra issues that may cause. If I get any males, I will def be trying to produce some seeds. Then I can get a constant harvest going. I can't complain......it's all for me and my wife. I'll be proud with just a nugget per plant at this point. Gotta crawl before I walk. Nice pic Soloflyer1

Hey destruct33, welcome to GK. If you are going to stay with the T5's then make sure that you also get some t5's that are for flowering too, because you want maximum bud growth once they are in flower...If you every have any questions that I can help you with just PM me..
Thanks mrgreenjeans. I got 4 blooms and 4 grow T5's. I was planning to combine the lights 2 each for the whole duration. I just finished germinating and planted the AK47xLowryder2's. I'll be starting a journal once they sprout.
