Hey GKer's- I've been soaking up the info on these boards for a few weeks and decided to try my hand at growing a few plants. I'll be using Coco Coir with AN's Monkey Juice for nutes, and Nirvana's Four Way for seeds. From what I have read, coco is a pretty forgiving medium, the only downside is there doesn't seem to be much information here about it. I've been supplementing my coco knowledge over at ICM, but my registration is stalled, and GK seems more like my size. So if there are some Coco growers here that don't mind answering some newbie questions give a shout. Much :love4:

Isn't Coco just hand watered hydro? (like hempy) You still use hydro nutes rather than soil right? I've only grown soil myself... TT and even though we may not have an active and vocal Coco section there's lots of great info and more importantly great ppl here. Kind ain't just a reference to the bud here! Do you know how many plants your gonna grow at once? Wondering about pheno's with that 4way... Sounded like a good line-up of contributors but also maybe a recipe for no 2 plants being the same... be sure to flush the coco with alot of water before the first use. out of the package coco is high in salts and add a little lime cause it tends to cause calcium difficencies
Thanks for the welcomes. Kind, friendly place you got here. Being new I am just trying to learn as much as I can to hopefully surf the learning curve to a decent harvest. Grateful, Coco does use hydro nutes, but they need to be tweaked a little, or be made specifically for Coco. I've read that hempy buckets work really well with Coco, but plan to hand water this time out. With Hempy buckets you can probably get away with skipping a few days between waterings. For lights, I have a couple of sprouts under a CFL at the moment, but have a 400w HPS with a MH conversion bulb once they are better established. Confused420, I guess the salt content varies between brands but it never hurts to play it safe and flush. I definitely plan to.
