Outdoor hempy has always challenged me. Challenge accepted. These are clones from the plant in the ground next to them. I am using the Lucas formula to feed them and they are staying outside until I kill them or harvest them.

The heat gets me every time when it gets over 90 so yeah, probably watering everyday. I've always done it when I did not really have time to mess with it, I got time now so we will see.

My 5 gallon outdoor hempy's needed watering 3 times a day in late flower.

i made the hole up high so they hold two gallons of liquid with no perlite in them. I am sure I'll be watering the crap out of them near the end.

Have you tried the hempy using vermiculite in the mix? It makes a big difference so you don't have to water as frequently. I use 1 part vermiculite, the course grade and 3 parts perlite, course grade. The perlite is no bigger than pea size. Hope they do well.

I thought about it but never tried it, if it uses less water then I am all for you that.

Too bad you cant bury 1/2 to 3/4 of the bucket to help with the temps around the root zone

I had a gelato #33 in a five gallon hempy inside this year. When summer came I pulled it out of the bucket and put it in the ground. It was huge. It got root rot and almost died. Now it's the smallest of the bunch.

It usually doesn't frost enough to hurt anything until around end of Nov, middle of December. Those are going to get pulled 11/1.
