Forget the herb garden.....LOL i can just picture my weed with basil

growing with it , should i throw some marigolds in there to:rofl:

Splash of color and all ya know?

I can see I answered my own question at the beginning

Either tox them or plant some for the bugs....

No offence but if it were legal I still would not do it because it Does

    not work, Neither do marigolds:rofl:

I had a stand of basil out back and RIGHT next to it was my parsley

My parsley was decimated by bugs ....and so was the basil:passit:

You use Parsley for Asparagus and Tomato. Basil and Parsley are both controllers/preventers, they don't assist each other.

Its typically an herb plant to protect a vegetable plant/flowering plant. Marigolds don't do shit.

    Pennyroyal for gnats and ants.

Basil or Parsley for bug control.

    Mint for moths and worms.

I had 19 different herbs, 4 types of mints alone.

I can say with years of experience that these claims IN my experiences

    never panned out.

I tried the citronella for mosquito's, I suspect down here even a hector

    of it would not work.

    Ants?.......... we have been invaded

by Fire Ants......a whole norther story and trust me penny royal ain't going to cut it with them.

If a colony gets established in ones garden the will kill everything good

and they do kill any plants in their way . They are also prolific, in the summer i could show you several mounds 2 feet tall at least and man many others in an area the size of a yard, in my area thats bout a half acre.

As i noted basil and parsley can not even protect them selfs so i can not see what good it would do with marijuana, additionally they are quite small

plants and would be shaded out in a mj patch quickly.

Knats are everywhere in the summer and since they move around its

impractical IMO to try to plant plants to avoid them for a MJ patch.

Again i suspect they would get shaded out though it will still grow , with stealth in mind its a non choice for me at least. The Gnats would just mug ya coming and going anyway, where i live their a fact of life in summer.

Also Basil flowers with those nice pretty small White flowers, IMO not what i want in my patch.

As far as vegetable gardens and bugs go-- , well my veggie garden was planted kinda in the middle of my Herb garden and like i said, bugs ate the tomatoes, basil, parsley,

Mint too-- . One folk lore around here says mint keeps fleas away.

I had a lot of dogs so I planted mint all around the house.

    Dogs still had fleas.

I was all into that but it did not work , though I was still glad to have the plants around the house.

Damn, that sucks man. It may be a regional thing. A lot of that stuff works for me, but I also have a year round growing season. Hope you can find a solution that works for you with minimal effort.

In some ways i suspect your right, we have high heat/hum from march to Oct most years.

Damn bugs love it, I tried many natural things but....

I still love them though, I took most of my herbs with me in pots.

My favorite was bee balm, Hummingbirds loved it and hummingbirds

are way cool, i always have feeders for them and every year

when they migrate back there will 30 of them or more at my feeder

at first,,,,,,,,,usually they never drink a whole feeder. but when

the ''gathering'' as i call it every year takes place they will drain a feeder

2 times a week for about 3 weeks then they slack off and disperse and then i see maaybe 10 a day at the feeder.

    I love hummingbirds
