ph calibration solution

    whay else can i use for calibrating my ph meter i spilled the whole bottle of calibrating solution.can any thing else work for calibration our do i have to order.anything work from home depot ace lowes etc.thanks

    :alien:Phosporic Acid might work. It'z usually sold at Petsmart in the Fish Section...sold as PH Down.


    1/2tspn Phosphoric Acid in 10gallons will buffer it to no higher than 7.2PH.


    You probably know this already, but whip out your PH meter; if your water reads 7.2...than it'z calibrated!!!


    But i recommend goin to your local hydrostore. They sell a PH4 calibrating solution for only $8!!!


    Another trick is to measure the PH of Distilled Store bought water...since distilled water is 7PH...than that'z what your PH meter should read...:light:
