Hello GK. Could someone recomend a real good fairly inexpensive ph meter for soil/hempy growin? Bought one for like twenty bucks at the homo depot,,, it a piece o sheet. anyways peace.:dog-nana: :dog-nana: :dog-nana:
This is the one use. It needs to be calibrated often, but it only takes a second. Or you can just compensate for the 0.1-0.2 it's ever off. http://www.labsafety.com/OAKTON-Waterproof-pH-Meter-Testr-10-_s_126288/pH-Meters-Electrodes-Solutions_24545456/?CID=9PP001 Simple accurate and durable . . . waterproof to boot.:alienwink:
Milwaukee PH 53 I recommend and use a Milwaukee pH pen style tester. Nice auto calibration, easy to read digital display, waterproof! That's a big one! You want waterproof. The model I have is the PH53 but it may be an older model by now and they may have a newer version but as long as it's waterproof and auto calibration you should be fine. I bought mine off of ebay for $67 including shipping and I love it! Works great, is reliable and easy to use. I have had no problems whatsoever with my Milwaukee. Here is a link to a site selling the same one I have for $65 with tax and shipping. :thumbs-up: http://www.bonanza.com/booths/aquaticstore/items/Milwaukee_pH53_Waterproof_°C_Tester_Meter_pH_53_Water
Ouch!! at $91.00 it seems a little expensive for an entry level grower. Just my initial reaction was like damn that's expensive! I'm sure it's a quality meter though, I have heard good things about Oakton. :thumbs-up:
I have never used another meter, so my experiences are very limited. I only recommend it because it's what I ended up with from my local grow store. Only, I think I paid like $753 or something crazy like that for it. I have heard EXTREMELY good things about the Milwaukee meters and they are somewhat cheaper. :alienwink:
well as usual you guys helped a bunch. was eyeballin the milwaukee on amazon, just wanted to make sure no one said stay away from this or that. thanks for all the advice, and look forward to the day i'll be able to come on here and answer people's quesions.
Soil Probe Meters are poo poo. You talking about a soil probe? Like this one: If so no offense but that thing is a complete waste of money IMHO. I had one of those soil probes and found it to be completely unreliable and inaccurate. Just my 2 cents but I would not recommend one of those to anyone. If it works for you,....hey great, but most everyone I know wouldn't waste their time or money with one of those type of meters. :bong-2:
I'll have to second that. When I first started growing I'd gone through two of them before realising it wasn't faulty, they're just inherently broken. Never looked back since I got my pH pen, we get different brands over here though.
I have a milwaukee ph51, Just got it about a month(?) or so ago. I am quite happy with it. Budz:anibong::anibong::anibong:
Me three. The only probe soil meters I've seen that work are BlueLab but they start at around $250 and won't be finding a way into my budget anytime soon.
Lo(freakin)L . that ferry morse prober is almost exactly what i got. junk, or quite possible i dont know how to use them, which could be quite possible. stuck it in my fox farm o.f. and a cup of dirt i dug out of the driveway at work, which is all road base, and same reading for both. so hmmmm, gonna have to invest. and read some faq's and make sure i can use one the right way.
Mine is made by Hamma Instruments. Around 80 bucks. You might look on ebay? Prolly get a good one pretty cheap. Dix
