i have read that not alot of people think these things are worth the money....well its a good thing....but i just gave 50 bucks for one and the guy grew in it in some kind of moss and water and supposedly after the first 90 days of growing you can yeild really nice amounts every 45 days . is he full of hot air? kids now prevent him from growing by the way and thats how i got the machine, it was wasting in his attic... anyhow gimme some feed back on these things as ii have no experience at all....tks fellas
Ya know I haven't experienced using one. I did a search here and there are 6 threads on it. I'd be interested to know how it goes myself.
i had a friend that had one- they get hot so u need to add ventilation and it uses flos so if u could add a 50w hps (all it will take) and it would yeild decent but you wont be getting pounds by any means. its a 1 plant grow system... start three seeds in it and flower when there 2-3 weeks and see if ya get a female. if ya do cull the other 2 plants because crowding it wont be good.
I had a phototron when I was younger. I ordered it because I couldn't afford a huge electric bill and I didn't have a lot of space, for those purposes it worked great. I hear so many people who can't seem to understand we all don't have the luxury of getting hid's putting trons down that it makes me want to slap them silly, and I'm not even a violent person,but as I said for certain cases it's a great way to go. I will admit that they are overpriced for what you get but if you look at your cost on the street, you will save ( it will pay for itself). My recommendation is to make modifications to it, to help you tailor suite your needs. The medium that they send with it is ok but I wasn't going to relly on their products, soil analysis, formula, and so forth. Once they're used up it's much cheaper and easier to go your own way. No paper trail that way either. In the end I've learned one thing, it's not how much you have, it's what you can do with what you've got. Adjustment is probable the most important skill you can acquire in growing. And for the rest of you hid nuts. Yes I WILL use hps combined with side cfls in the future BUT when I had the tron that wasn't an option.
wwboy its not worth much....yeah perhaps a one plant deal...even then it will be low yeild and quality...id say leave it alone...great for flowers or spices but marijuana it isnt going to bang out any killer buds.....save yer nickles and at some point get into a h.p.s. system.
Some of you older members may remember, we started out with a Phototron9, thus the Tronman was created. We used it for a few years basically to attempt to justify the cash we laid out for it. The method of growing they recommend (for us) was not practical. The perpetual harvest they advertise - NO. The growth rate they hype - NO. Be prepared to puff a lot of leaves while you pray for buds. We did use it for breeding, to make seeds, with regular soil and plants in pots. It produced well like this, good seeds and the buds were excellent, really had a sweet taste to them. We used it solely after that for starting seedlings or cloning. It is just a cheaply built plastic box with built in Compact Flo's. We speak from MUCH expierience when we say. 1. It will produce QUALITY smoke, in small quanities. 2. It's poor design will build up heat and you will have to vent it or watch the mylar peel off the sides 3. You will be much happier building your own box and adding lights, or investing in a grow tent. Bottom line is, it is not worth the space it takes up. Compac Flo's work well, there are a lot growers who use them with much success, you dont need a Phototron to grow with em. The big question is, knowing what We know now, would we give fifty bucks for a used phototron - Not no but - HELL NO
