Without time to precisely cover and uncover the lower branches each and every day. Was wondering if it is ok to 12/12 (via timer)the entire plant for pre-sexing and once determination is made, return to veg. state.

Not the best idea. This will stress the plant considerably, and will set you back a week or two. Preflowers form usually within 4-6 weeks. So I recomend leaving them untill you see preflowers.

Thanks for the reply - knowing that I wouldn't be consisitent in uncovering or covering, I began 12/12 a week ago with the entire plant - I may have screwed up, as I was planning on returning to 18/6 after sexing. Other than the additional time will this have any other negative repurcussions?

You can do it. I've tried it and ended up with 4 out of 5 going hermie though.

it stresses the plant and might cause it to go hermie. how big is the plant and how old and from seed or clone? i would guess to just leave it in flower. u should have just let show sex naturally
