Excellent point Sylent!!...The israelis have been profiling for years now and yet still suffer from terrorism. Weve been threatened and attacked a number of times. Its time we approached this situation realistically. While watching an interview on 60 minutes with an Israeli official he was shocked at the way we've been handling this terrorist situation on a security basis and made his dismay very clear to the reporter. To put it bluntly: The israelis have soldiers on every corner; they have 4 check points on the airport entrance road that require ID and an explanation of your reasoning for f these checkpoints also do profiling... not including the checkpoints within the airport itself! They have promoted safety drills with the people and installed biological and chemical weapon early detection systems. Security in Israel is as high as humanely possible yet despite this amazing security effort the terrorist attacks within Israel succeed nearly every day. Which of course is a perfect example of the ability of terrorists to succeed despite intense opposition ...Are we vulnerable to another large scale terrorist attack considering our security no where near rivals that of the Israelis?...YES
Is the best way to welcome these people back to civilization by discriminitating against them? I mean they are obviously pissed so why make them more angry? And also is the best way to prevent other ethnic groups from taking thier place by leaving them an opening though focusing only on one group?

What group of people are responsible for the current accounting scandal? If we continue to profile AA's (African Americans)on the East Coast (of USA)for out of state cars carrying drugs, Then we should expand the number of categories we profile for. Can we start profiling some of them to curb future crime in these categories? I do not agree with the actions the terrorists have chosen, but I beleive that every action causes an equal reaction...... With that said.... What the heck have we done to them? hehehe, still playin the race card huh ranger? Stalin and hitler were leaders, not terrorists, Oklahoma bombing and columbine were isolated incidents, not organized terrorism. Ill put it this way, if a black guy robs a bank, the cops have no reason to go after a white guy, likewise if a white guy rapes a girl, the cops have no reason going after a black guy. But if a group of islamic terrorists declare war on our country and crash planes and blow up trucks and they do it yearly and theres a pattern, then the feds have every reason to look at muslims who are here illegaly and act suspicous, not an old man in a wheel chair or a child with a cap gun. There is a clear pattern here, not some random attacks for all different reasons like dahmer and kazinski. Terrorist networks work together, fight for the same cause and use the same techniques. ranger, you have a good point about stereotypes, but then look at all the guys you just mentioned and see what they have in common: they're all FUCKIN' LOONEY TUNES! A mentally ill person might not have the capacity to commit an organized terrorist act, be part of some cell or cult or whatever, but I think they should still have to take responsibility for any violent acts, no matter how badly off they can convince some doctor they are. I can't believe that someone could be so insane that they have no knowledge of any wrongdoing when they hurt someone. I am sick of hearing people say, "Oh, he's harmless," or, "Most mentally ill people aren't violent," because I have been attacked by psychotic people. And that's MY big pet peeve as far as profiling goes.
