I got 3 plants outdoors in the ground. Although I mixed composted horse manure in the dirt, I've never used any ferts or pesticides on them. I just keep the grass and weeds pulled that grow under them. They are about 4 foot tall and budding nicely. The other day I noticed a slug at the top of one, I have had no insect issues at all. So, since it is about 1/2 way through the flowering cycle what should I use to keep any future pest off of them that is not going to leave a residue on the buds? or should I just treat the area around the plants with a pesticide?
If you have no insect issues then I'd do nothing. If you need to use an insecticide, try this... Chop up four or five habanero or jalapeno peppers (the hotter the peppers the better), two gloves of chopped garlic, tobacco from one cigarette, one eighth cup of vegetable oil and tsp dish detergent. Add all of this to one gallon of water and mix well. Spray the plants as needed.
just a waaay over due follow up. of the 3 I got a qp per plant off of two plants, the third never got that big, about an oz off that one. I wish I could get those results indoors! I got a plan though. I'm not gonna top a couple plants this next go-round for a side by side comparison on an indoor grow. those 2 plants were about 3 foot 6, I have plenty of ceiling height to grow big plants. I figure make the 12 12 switch at about 18 inches to end up with around 4 foot tall pants. as far as outdoors im gonna throw a couple more out in mid Feb.
