Hey everybody... i am soon going to plant my outdoor seeds and i was thinking, what if a few days after the seed sprouts, it rains?? wont the rain force wsh the seedlings away? or knock them down?? i am not going to use the 2L bottles, so will the seedling servive in the rain or not?
**** thought so... maybe i still wont use the 2L bottles, but maybe hav them on standby and if it rains go and put it over the seedlings until it stops raining...good idea??
Not goin against what your saying Ranger... But.. Outdoors is my only option... And rain has never been something I worried about. It's all out downpoured on my lil gaffers... And nothing close to hurting or killing them.. Lilly
My seedlings have been soaked in somewhat continuous rain (every other day/3 times a week) for about two weeks or more, and they are still going. They are not knocked over. My only concern is the rain sogging the medium and the possibility of rot. I think I am okay though. They were germinated in seed starting mix, which I think drains fairly well. I did notice yellowing of the lower leaves in some of the plants, but it is way too early to tell if the excess moisture is responsible for nutrients being washed away. I just watered them today with a solution of Superthrive and beet juice fertilizer (1-1-4), and then it rained again! We'll have to see...
ahahah thats awsome morning....good work. hey but look at the bright side, you dont have to water them...lol i jsut dug my holes today by the way, they are going up this weekend. It doesnt rain to often here but still, i was jsut a little parinoid..lol thanks
what you should do is if they are still small put little sticks next to them and tie them to it so they do not fall do not worry about rain as much as sunlight
