the reason for the retirement is i'm tired of being "tied down" by plants. i want to be free to travel, etc, which i felt was restricted by taking care of things at home. i also feel a hell-of-a-lot-better in the pain department and don't need to use MJ constantly for that anymore. and i have plenty of smoke to keep me happy for a long time. trust me, i'm happy with my decision! i'll drop in from time to time ... see ya around! :bong-2:
That's one aspect of growing that sucks. Unless you have everything super automated taking a vacation is a pipe dream. I guess you could ask some one to help while your gone but if they make a mistake kiss that friendship goodbye. Also you shouldn't be showing people your grow for any reason to begin with. Mary I hope you enjoy the huge weight taken off your shoulders by retiring.
Oh nooooo! {Marijuana pleading it's case to you} Ooooh, Mary, I don't know. I've got mixed feelings about this. Couldn't you just switch to sativas that vegitate and flower longer? How long you vacationing for? A year? More? Wow! So all of a sudden you can't take me to the French Riviera with you? It's like that? You're just GOING like that? I can't believe it! What about all the good times, huh? You know, that we shared together? I hate to make this hard but I gotta, damit! I loved you!:roffl: JK! What kind of pain are you getting over? I just recently had wisdom-tooth problems that persisted for about three months before culminating in a surgery that even with pain medication was like Dante's 5th circle of hell! If your pain was anything like that and it persisted for longer than mine I can sincerely say congratulations.
That's why I went to outdoor grow. I got tired of always being there. Almost made me want to quit...Almost:bong-2: peace G_B
There's absolutely no reason you can't have your cake and eat it too. Or in this case, grow your plants and travel too. I do. Who says you need to grow continuously? I typically grow once a year, and schedule my grow around other events, like trips, the holidays, visits from the kids, etc. I generally start my seeds in early January, and they are done in April. That gives me the rest of the year free, and enough smoke to last me till the next harvest. I even occasionally have to travel for business for a few days at a time during my grow. After a good soaking (in soil), I've left my plants alone for up to 5 days with no problems whatsoever. Only drawback is that I have to grow from seed. It's just not feasible for me to keep clones alive year round. Maybe not perfect, but I'm happy.
