rewiring because of to high of watts?

    i grow outdoors but i was thinking about getting an 1000 watt hps, but i was informed that you would have to rewire a hole bunch of stuff......... so whats the max number of watts i can have for a normal circuit?

    ya im gunna be growing top 44 in a closet and the only way i see to do it is to have it on a sky hook

    :roll: I was actually refering to the sort of skyhook that attaches to the sky![​IMG] Sort of like levitation boots!:biglaugh: You had said you grow outdoors, and wanted to add a 1000watt:light:. I assumed that you were talkin about hanging it outdoors! Thats why I said I was lost!:wink: Good luck with the skyhook though!:smile:

    A 1000 watt HPS draws 9.0 - 9.5 amps. One light should be fine ona n ormal house circuit of 20 amps. Check your breaker box to determine th e actual circuit rating. If the circuit ties into other aspects of your dwelling (most do) you may have to eliminate sources of power consumption on the same circuit. Keep the maximum amperage on your circuit 75% of the cicuit rating. I.e. if your circuit is 20 amps, you only want 15 amps drawing power from it.
