I'm sure there's folks on here that have sent buds though the mail. I'm really leery of trying it, because of the obvious risk. BUT..... I'm all the way across the country in NY, away from my sweet bud, and I need some!!!! AAHHHHH!!!!!!!

How does one go about packaging bud? With no detectable smell? Do I have to vacuum pack it, because I really don't want to do that....

    Wanna go ninja style?

Go get 2 of the same candles in glass jars.....and get a jar with a LID that fits inside the candle jar.....14 grams fits into a Heinz gravy jar

Put both of the candles on an electric stove or hot plate or ontop of a skillet on a gas stove on LOW........let the wax get to liquid........pour out one of the candles, drop in the SEALED jar of bud, pour other liquid wax over the JAR inside the candle jar, let it set and send it

Once hard, the wax seals up any and everything, plus the scent of the candle is obviously good......if ya get them BIG BIG 4 wick candles you can get atleast 2oz in

I would just use a glass mason put the jar in a large baggie with some coffee grounds and package tightly so the glass does not break.

I suggest using UPS or FED Ex instead of the USPO. Use the Candle Method CC spoke aboout. SOME PO's have sniff dogs...and coffee beqans or perfume or whatever dont mean shit to a sniff dog.

Basically the jar alone will do. Baggies wont. Odor is sealed in with the jar.

Jars are air tight, but I do like the candle trick.

I know of 'someone' who gets weed sent to him from Pasadena. The weed is packed inplastic bags, then vacuum sealed in a plastic bag. It's shipped in a Post Office box a little larger than a book. 'Someone' requested that the sender use a fake bookstore name and address as the return address.

'Someone' hasn't had a problem.... so far.

I don't want to vacuum seal it - seems like a disgrace to good herb, ya know?

Glass jars seem like they might be heavy. (So do candles tho...)

Do they xray packages? could they see through the glass, and see the shape of anything? IDK. I'd like a decent bit sent here, if I can, I suppose the extra postage for some quality shit is worth the extra weight though, huh?

Thanks for all the suggestions, folks!

I would imagine a tupperware airtight food container would suffice for airtightness

    Done it many times.......

Here is how we do it. Get a flat rate box from the USPS Office. Take your Ganja and put it into a couple ziplock baggies and squeeze all the air out. Then wrap the bags in Gorilla Tape (Super Sticky Heavy Duty Duct Tape) really well at least a few layers. This stuff will form a water tight seal so it's obviously air tight. Then for extra stealth I put together a cheesy "care package" some cheap candy and a box of fiddle faddle. OPen the box of fiddle faddle with a knife from the bottom so it can be glued shut again. push the Ganja package into the fiddle faddle box just below the bag of fiddle faddle and glue the box shut again. Now you have a very stealth package. Or I have also gone to the store and bought some fresh ground coffee and put the Ganja package into the coffee for an extra stealth and odor cover up.

It has always worked perfectly for me. All packages got to where they were going.:thumbs-up:

DON'T use UPS!! They require you to show ID just to ship a package. At least through the USPS you can still be anonymous....

I would imagine after 9/11 things are a bit different....I don't know how involved in daily mail/etc the homeland security guys are involved...

Done it. Will do it again. Don't recommend it.

I've used Fedex and USPS packaging. Always used a fictitious name that only I would recognize and if you ever get asked for a signature for delivery refuse the package.

BTW..anybody who hunts with dogs can tell you there is no way you can package well enough to block the odor from a dog. Even handling the weed then the outside of the packaging leaves enough trace scent that a dog can pick it up. I had a trick an old dog of mine would do. On slow hunting days I'd have my buddies each toss a shotgun shell into standing cattails. I'd throw one too and then we'd send my dog in. Every time he'd come back with MY shell. Just the scent left by my hand touching the shell was enough for him to find which one was mine.

Back in the old days I used to send 1/2 lbs through UPS all the time. I don't know if this is why I was never caught but I would soak a couple small pieces of sponge in ammonia, put them in baggies to make like 4 or 5 separate little ammonia packets and wrap them in the outer lining of the packaging. I was always under the impression that ammonia threw off a dog's sense of smell but I don't know how true that is.

That's what I do. Mason jar. Done. I used to do the coffee thing but it's pointless.

Been doing that couple of times a year since 2004. Never had a problem. Obviously there's a risk of losing bud but, that's the worst case senario.

Don't leave fingerprints on the jar or the packing tape.

you guys like doing things the hard way.

When moving marijuana(or any other illegal substance) across state or national lines, the easiest way to do it is carefully wrapped in a few layers of cellophane and packed with some kind of food item.

Reason for this is simple. On the odd chance that a drug dog is around, even checking mail, they WILL smell it in the container, the container is for human scent. The food items are for human confusion. You fool the person, not the dog. So send like, a care package full of candy and chips and sausages or whatever.

Glass jars are too bulky and heavy. This way, you get your bud, some snacks, and even if a dog smells it, a human will think the pooch just wants your food.

I've seen this done in prison, kinda. Some guys would sneak a bottle of cleaner into their cell, and since most guards didn't care about breaking rules and didn't want to supervise each individual cell being cleaned, it got left there. So stuff was hidden inside the cleaner bottles

The main point about sending through the mail is that out of the thousands of packages each day sent across states lines, I would guess less than 1% have pot in them. The po-po only have enough resources to cover MAYBE one office in every county USPS and UPS combined. When they do catch illegal shit in the mail, they don't charge the recipient, and if you are dumb enough to leave an obvious trail to yourself than you deserve to get caught.
