Smarmy's AK-47 grow journal

I started to germinate them exactly 2 weeks ago. 11 out of 15 ak's popped.

I also started the last of some BBx Mr. Nice seeds that I've had. I have yet to find a pheno that I like of this strain, but I figured I have the room for a few more plants this go around.

Here are the 11 ak's on top and the BBXMr.Nice on the bottom left.

looks good smarmy. one quick question....how often do you find you have to re-water your rockwool cubes?

 

I flood that tray once a day, about a 1/2 inch up the cube.

 

Swarmy I have a quick question. Why do your plants bend so funny? I see that one of them bends almost all the way sideways. 2 of the seedlings I have also bend funny is this ok or no? just noticed so thought id ask.

 

That's just the seedlings stretching. I lent my flouro's to a buddy so I had to put them under a 175w MH. I will bury the plant all the way up to the first set of leaves in a few days, and that should end the tipping

Thanks 420, yeah they were kinda expensive, but after doing a lot of research, Serious Seeds seem to have some of the most stable, high quality strains.


Yesterday, I checked the remaining beans b4 I throw them out and to my surprise another ak cracked. It's kinda wierd the first 11 cracked within 48 hours and this last one took 15 days. Needless to say I didn't throw out the remaining 3. I'm gonna give them another week.


The ak's are really taking off. I'll post some pics in a couple days.

Here they are at about 2 weeks old.


The top row is the 4 BBxMr.Nice ( already started with the crazy leaves) and 2 NL clones, just to help with the female/male ratio.


The bottom 2 rows are the 12 AK47's.


They have been under a 175w MH for a few days and are being fed 1/4 strength nutes. I also added some hydrogaurd and liquid karma to the mix.

That's the runt on the left, the one that sprouted on day 15. She better catch up soon.

 

Here are a few pics of the diffrent phenos. The first is the more indica. Hope its one of the cherry phenos





This one is deff more sativa. I started to LST her.





This is a BBx Mr. Nice. This plant is only 4 inches tall but 7 inches wide. Very bushy.








This is the whole tray.





Some of them are already showing alt. nodes. I figure I will veg them for another 3- 4 weeks.

Hey Smarmy, the s-dom pheno is the better one for AK-47. Much stronger high, better flavor and higher yielder. The I-dom produces denser nuggets, but not with the same quality as the s-dom. The s-dom likes to make one huge cola with little side branching. That's what I would look for in the ak. Just my opinion based on past experience.

Sativa.....

When i first started perusing the onling grow scene "They" always said that the true connoiseur preferred the Sativa buzz. I USED to think that was bullshit......I USED to pay $75 for shit weed too. :laughing5:


Now i see where "they" were coming from. I prefer the Sativa in just about every way. Except for the height difference :icon_confused:

I prefer the sativa high too, I can still function. LOL Indica's are nice for sleep, that's about it. Can't get anything done when smoking the indi's.


Smarmy, in case you can't see it, those colas that are hanging are 3 feet plus. The total plant height was averaging 3.5 feet.

I'm using LST on all the sativa dominant plants. This is my 1st time trying LST, but it seems to be going OK

Here is the whole tray at 45 days since germination. I'm gonna switch to 12/12 tonight. They're not joking when they say that the AK's are stinky. They are stinkier right now in veg than my NL ever was in full flower.





This is the Indica dom female. So far it's my favorite one.

Ive been working like a dog so I haven't been able to post as much, but this stage is kinda boring anyways. Here we are at 2 weeks of 12/12. I'm happy to say that of the 11 AK's, I ended up with 10 females the last one I tossed cuz it was very weak and sensative to nutes. That might have been a female as well. Who knows? I eded up with 1 female BBX Mr. nice but I tossed her to make room for the AK's. So the tray now has 2 NL's and 10 Ak's and they have finished most of their stretch. Thanks. Peace
