So this is mold??

I was trying to shoot some good bud porn when I found this towards the back of my garden, Its white and spotty and all over a couple of my plants.Im assuming its mold:buzzkill:Anyways couple bud shots too from some of the unaffected plants.Should I chop the moldy ones?asssit:

Looks a lot like thrips damage to me. Does it rub off of the leaves or is that damage?

Well it's not powdery mildew. It looks a lot like thrips damage from what I can tell.

The good news is that in my experience thrips were easier to get rid of than mites were by far. Neem oil and pyrethrin seemed to knock them out.

 

I took a blown up pic. I think there is a pest upper left side.

The only way to truly know is to look at the trichomes under a handheld microscope or a jeweler's loupe.

 

Yeah I have neither so I guess I will have to wing it. Its 8 weeks along so I guess i will chop in about a week.

I used to get a good closeup macro shot with a decent digital cam and blow it up big so I could get a pretty good idea how the trichs looked. The definition won't be perfect unless you have a nice camera but you should be able to see the overall color of the trichs whether they're mostly clear, cloudy or amber.

 

I guess I will wait two weeks, after harvest I will be able to afford some tools and instruments to make the next grow a bit better. Im pleased how it looking for my ghetto grow luckily I had you guys to turn to get me to this point. You think I should feed them one more time?

 

I have this stuff I used to treat for mites it says it kill thrips also.Do you think it would make the bud taste nasty if some got on it?Its ingredients is 99% distilled water with some organic oils and citric acid.

It's kinda hard to tell by the pics, could'nt notice any amber colored trichomes on your buds. I'd wait till the tyichomes on your buds are about one half turning a milky white or amber in color (versus clear), and the small hairs have begun to turn orange or reddish brown in color, you have a window of about 5-7 days for peak harvest and potency, I think the more amber the trichomes have turned, the stonier the pot will likely be. be shure of what you see. I'd get one of those pocket microscopes,I think Radio Shack hase em for about 10 bucks. Hope your plants are alright.
