I'm switching from soil to hydro and I've decided to go with a ebb and flo system (sog) and I was told 75 plants would fit on a 4X4, is this good? and will a 1000 hps run this right from beginning to end, I've told there would be no problems, I'm putting my clones and moms under floros in a closet. thanks, you guys are the best (and gals

Well you've got a good light, and you now need a tray and a reservoir. At least a 30gl res for a 4x4 tray. A light like that is good for a few plants, 75 plants is unrealistic.

Well, that I really can't answer because I've never done it...I'm sure we'll get some kind folks to help out here...Hell, sounds good to me! I'd love to be sporting 75 cola's on a 4x4 table!

if i'm not mistaken you've already asked this exact question. anyway, 75 plants is just a random number because there's no way to fit 75 plants in a square. IF you could fit anywhere near 75 plants on a 4x4 table you'd have to do 72 (8x9), but that's not even 6" square for each plant. you need at least an 8" square for each plant, which would be 36 clones (6x6) on a 4x4 table.

you've got the right idea to do a SOG with lots of short plants because that will allow you to keep your light closer, thus maximizing light penetration == more lumens available to the plants. 36 could be done, but since it seems you are new to hydro and SOG i would suggest starting with 25. once you have a little experience you can try to cram 36 clones on your table, each in 8" rockwool cubes or net pots.

thanks alot, yes 75 is a random number, not mathematical, we were told 75 by the hydro store owner, is the reason we can't go 75ish because the amount of root space for the plants? what about a 4X6, would you recomment 50 plants and would a 1000hps cover a 4X6? We have a 250 MH that we really don't want to use though? Thanks
