Hello people here is what i have been up to lately. so since the hydro thing is going good now with no problems i figured why not try to grow some mushrooms, that and the fact they are so hard to find. so i ordered some spores back in dec and fixed up some rice cakes. to my amazement i didnt screw it up on my first try. i had read so much about contams and everything but it all worked out great. so to all you mushroom eaters, its not hard to do at all. this is a canopy shot of some plants into 2 weeks of flowering. and these are in the same room under everything. I only inoculated two jars at first. incase i messed up but i have enough spores for about 15 more jars. this cake has about 10 mushies showing right now with much more to come. peace

What strain mushroom are you growing, Doc? I've tried the PF Tek mthod twice, but both timea I either had trouble getting the cakes to pin or had contamination problems. Anyways, good luck with the mushrooms and chronic.
i forgot to mention what strain it was. it's none other than p.c penis envy. read that it was a good first timer strain. fast mycelym growth but slow to fruiting. i used the pf teq and had no problems. you just got to make sure you boil or p.c the jars good enough and flame the needle. though you might have gotten contaminated spores. i did, ordered two and one has done nothing but contam by day 2. but these were my first two ever so im happy with it so far. there are quite a few spore dealers out on the net. check out the shroomery, they have a main distributer kinda like badass for gk.
Yeah, I got my spores form the Hawks Eye. I started with the Cambodia strain. It had extremly fast mycelial growth, in fact, by the second week, I had 100% colonization, but, alas, no pins for some unknown reason. Anyways, enjoy your mushrooms, they look delicious.
day 2 well they have doubled in size by day two. i can make out 10 good pins that should produce full shromage. enough for myself at least. the other cake just isnt doing anything. joker i think what it boils down to is its a hit or miss kinda thing. you either get shrooms or ya dont. unlike plants where you can neglect them, and stress them out but still bring them back. if that makes any sense. maybe you didnt have the right lighting or cycle maybe not enough humidity to get premordia.
I hear that you just let em sit after they are inoculated. like they do everything on their own after that initial work. is that true? and man do those things grow that fast? insane
The mycleium mold takes anywhere from two-four weeks to fill the jars. Another two-three weeks is required for pins (baby mushrooms) to start. Once the cake starts to show pins, they only take a few days to reach maturity.

yeah! my first fully home grown mushrooms i only got 5 mushies from one cake so far. not too bad for a first timer i guess. im going to dry these for a couple days then get back with a potency report. but now its time to get this project on the roll living in peace buds are in the third week.
Dude, you should eat them fresh. The visuals will blow your mind. At least, the fresh mushrooms I used to get always had insane visuals, and I wouldn't even eat that much. I would pop like 20 grams wet, which is about two grams dry, and I would trip face! And, they don't taste like ****, either.
