As some of you know, I had a major back surgery in April. Things were put on hold for some time. But, The surgery went extremely well, I am now like the bionic man, and the room is back in action, pumping out nice buds.

There have been some design changes I will go over with you guys.
Instead of making a true 4kw flower room for sensi, I have modified the room to have a 2kw area for my EnF tables, which will always be my sensi tables.
The other half of the room has been divided into two 1kw isolation chambers. The reason was one of practicality, and necessity. You see, I am growing a landrace thai strain, and flowering for 20+ weeks in the same room as my sensi tables (which I veg for two weeks in) wasn't going to happen. Being an old school thai lover, I needed to be able to isolate these LRT's, and still keep my production going. So a chamber was ideal. Secondly, I have some landrace Afghan's that need to be gone through, so the other chamber was a no brainer. This also gives me some more flexibility with the multiple strains I run.

The EnF tables are horizontal lighting, with cheap bat wing reflectors. There are 2 tables, each 4'x4' with 16 plants per table. The plants are in 10" net pots filled with hydroton, and the tables covered in panda film. I use the net pots for two reasons, first is that it only requires about 2/3 of the amount of hydroton than completely filling the tables.Second, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to clean the hydroton when you're done with a crop. Each net pot can be lifted out and cleaned very easily.

The "isolation chambers" I built using vertical bare bulbs. This gives me more vertical space, and I need, as you will see in the pics. Also, because I want preserve the genetics in both the thai and afghan lines, I made sure the chambers are air tight, less the intake and exhaust. The intake is no concern, no pollen will escape against the wind, and for the exhaust I used an old trick I really like. I take a HEPA air filter cut it to size and install it on the outlet. I use the grade 10 filters, which are the highest rated for pollen. As I found previously, they work perfectly for containing pollen. I have no cross pollination in my EnF tables.

The only other design change, was the timers. The original ones I purchased were crap. The clock motor was analog, and designed for 50 hertz. Here in the USA, we run 60 Hz. So, I was gaining time because of the motor. I did the math real quick, and it was obvious it's a 50 Hz analog motor.
The solution was to get different timers, with either a 60 Hz or digital clock timer. I went and got 2 GE model 15132. I installed them in June, and they are still on perfect time. Haven't lost a minute. These were however, more expensive, at about $55.00 USD each. Well worth the investment though.

OK onto some pictures. These are all taken at about 7.5 weeks into flower.

And now onto the thai, my favorite.
FFOF soil, no nutes. They have been fed only once, are still in 1.5 gallon containers, and show no sign of nutrient deficiency. These are now nearly 10 weeks into flower, and are just starting to show flower formation. The first 7 weeks were 11.5/12.5 light cycle, now reduced to 11/13.

Starting from this, as a reference, plants were 2.5 ft. tall at start of flower.

They are now 8 ft. plus. The male has been shedding his load and is literally the most prolific pollen producer I have ever seen. I collected a lot of pollen from him already, and he just keeps pumping it out. (That's an 8'6" ceiling btw)

Pardon the few burned leafs, they got a bit close to the bulb.

Those Thai plants look wicked. Definitely no indica in that strain! 20 weeks flowering. That is incredible, I wish I had the room to run a few of those without screwing up the regular 70ish day stuff. I've never grown the Thai, but I sure remember that delicious taste.

    Great stuff Useless... Rock on

    AB - yup, 20 + weeks. lol

OFO - Real Thai bud is truly a unique high. It's all in your head. No body stone to it. It's similar to smoking PCP in effect.

GTWT - These are a landrace thai, from Thailand, hence the name. It is not refined or bred strain, so it just has the name of the country it originated from. As stated above, the effect is truly unique. If you haven't ever smoked a pure sativa, especially a Thai, I suggest you try to find it.

BOA - These seeds came from Thailand, direct from the farmer who happens to be a friends B.I.L. He sent over 5 kilos, and these seeds were picked from those kilo's. My understanding is the line has been grown by his family for years, and they have not hybridized it in any way. So, while the strain itself is new to me, it is not a new strain.

Doobster - Check the pictures below for a walk down memory lane if you remember toking real Thai buds. I went to a dispensary, and saw a dusty jar that said "Thai" on it. I said, very skeptically "Is that real thai?" The guy says "oh you like thai's right?" He grabbed the jar, and when I saw it, before even smelling it, I said, "give me a 1/4 oz." Then I smelled it, and said, "make that a 1/2 oz." I was immediately taken back to the late 80's and the Thai I used to get from an old hippie heroin addict. Smell and flavor are like you are chewing on a handful of peppercorns and incense sticks. Not PCP potent like the bud I used to get, but still damn similar. Smoked a joint with a few friends while having some beers yesterday, and they walked around the bar like Zombies for about 4 hours. HAHA

    RG - Thanks

    Tron - Thanks

A farmer in Thailand willing to ship 5kg across the Pacific is probably somewhat difficult to find. So if one wanted to grow a Thai strain such as yours Useless, would one have to fly to Thailand to procure the necessary seeds? By "one" I mean ME...or any other GK member...but mostly just me. I want one! (A female clone is also acceptable.) :cheese:

By the way, I'm glad to hear your surgery was a success.

What's up MD? Long time no see bro.

Yes, to get this strain, you would have to go to Thailand. Or just wait until Jan. ;)

Thanks man. I am about 70% back to "normal" now, which is great. I had been dragging knuckles stooped over like a cave man for the last 2 years. LOL

I took a long break from growing followed by a longer break from smoking. I'd love to get back into growing now but can't be stealth enough in my current residence. My next place will definitely have at least a huge walk-in closet if not a basement, and then I'll feel safe.

I keep them short by topping and growing in 16oz bottles until they are a couple months into flowering, then transplant to 100oz buckets

Damn Useless, you have one (but probably two) mighty greenthumb :not-worthy: The pics are great, and that LemonThai looks extremely frosty!

I've never grown a pure thai, but I did about 4 runs with a 13 week Tsunami Thai (an unknown Thai mix). It tasted like incense, and when harvested a little early, the effect was pure speed, an extremely energetic high. Anywhos, I hope you keep us entertained with more pics, and take it easy on your back bro :beerchug-2:

Ahhhh, I remember the Thai days! Thai stick and Empress Thai.Yum. I remember when some people wouldn't buy Thai unless it was on a stick.lol. I loved the bags. Back then tho when seeds were found they were tossed. Stupid kids. Back then I also LOVED the Columbian Red. Now that was SWEET! Smoother than the Panama. And Lambs Breath. And the first time I smoked Kona bud and Jamican Sensi. Wow,:passsit: did you bring back memories.

MD - Cool cool man. Good to see you around.

BOA- just gotta wait till sometime ion December like I do. lol

HHHG - Gave you some tips in PM, looks like you got it down. They really seem to like 2ml of floranova bloom per gallon about once a month when they start flower production. Any more or more frequent seems to be overdose territory. Mine will get transplanted into 5 gal containers to finish, and I will not feed any nutes unless they scream for em once I do. The 2ml FNB/gal is just to sustain them while in the small containers, if you follow?

Link - thanks for the kind words. No need to harvest this thai early, it's an electric, pulse racing, mind warping head fuck all the way.

LSB - I remember getting Panama Red in the 80's too. Used to get about 3 grams for $10 USD. Smooth flavor, damn good high, but would knock you down if you smoked too much. Beautiful red haired nugs. The 'lumbo running back then in my area was mostly gold or green. The gold having a harsh toke, but awesome effect.

JoH - Dankesheine. Ist wast mein Vergnügen. Entschuldigen Sie mich Rechtschreibung. Das ist nicht sehr gut.

I give them 30ml PBP Bloom with every feeding, which is a low dosage. They seem to be happy with that so far, including the seed plants that have been flowering over 100 days. I've never used Floranova so I don't know how it compares to PBP.
